bi pride and positivity

there is so much joy waiting for us. so much comfort, understanding, and joy. we can see them, meet them, and live in them together. the sweetness of life and loving connection.

may all our bisexual dreams come true. may we find pleasure in our lives and joy in our relationships beyond our wildest dreams. may we be abundant in love and safety and community. may we find out it is all possible, and it is all waiting to welcome us, to celebrate our freedom and embrace us.

bisexual love and tenderness extends across our multitudes and covers us in sacred joy and safety. we can transcend gendered lines in the sand as easily as the ocean rolls over our feet. our love is as cool mist and summer sky.

i am the master of my own body. i am the one who thrives by my own pleasure. i get to create my own comfort. my body is my own. it is mine to move, to flex, and to share as i please. it is mine to design. it is mine to sense and embody. mine to ornament and shroud. mine to protect and nourish. i make the body i fill my home, and it is mine to enjoy.

i love being trans. i love my trans body. i love the comfort of my own skin, my curves, my hair, my muscles, my voice, and how they are mine. i love living in a body that i chose, that i made into a comfortable home, that i have asserted myself within and made sacred and safe. i love the bravery it took for me to believe i could change, and to take every new step. i love the perspective that being trans has brought me. i love that i am a living example of what a better world looks like. i love all those who stand before, beside, and ahead of me in bodies that they freely choose, in the cloth and ribbon and sunlight that they freely choose. i love having a deeper understanding of what brings humanity together. i love myself. i love being myself. i love that i am trans.

drag and "cross-dressing" are wonderful ways to express ourselves. gender nonconformity is beautiful. our long history of blurring gender lines deserves to be celebrated. we will all be more free when society realizes that all clothes can be gender neutral.

good lgbt representation has room for 'stereotypes' without shame. all of us deserve to be seen and respected. the polyamorous bisexuals, the gender non-conforming lesbians, the androgynous and multi-gender transgender people, the promiscuous gay men. the young and old and disabled and fat and Black and brown. gender diverse people who hold tight to their religious and ethnic traditions, and those who buck them entirely. we all deserve respect. we all deserve to see ourselves in the stories we tell, to be recognized as fully human, and capable of joy and community and creating our own futures. we need to recognize the difference between harmful stereotypes, and ones that are simply society's way of separating us as 'other', and reject conformity as the only valid way to live.
