trying to daydream, but my mind keeps wandering

hell isn't

flames & fury

hell is cold

last real decision that i’ve made

The words stirred Eve awake from her slumber, and she shot a worried glance toward Adam. But he was still fast asleep amongst the deer in the grass. Eve had been waking from the same dream ever since she could remember, but the commotion never seemed to rouse him. It would bother her on occasion, but tonight she was grateful to be alone.

The serpent is right, of course, she thought. The Creator would not forbid us, except to keep us from harm. She began repeating that thought, as she had always done, but the words seemed to lack conviction this time.

in ways with which you are

maybe the star that we

wished upon

i look forward to the time

when i’ll go entire days

that they tickle and poke and pinch

when they first go in,

but they sever and rip and tear

anything that i have,

except for my time
