So I’ve been thinking a lot about the reputation stadium tour since it happened. No, I haven’t been a fan since day 1, but Taylor’s been someone who I would listen to on occasion. Now for over 12 years I’ve struggled with self harm, depression and PTSD. This is not a sob story or anything but I need to put that out there to go with what I’m gonna say next. At Gillette, I saw Taylor live for the first time. The night before I relapsed badly on my leg. I”ve been anxious all summer because my substitute job at an elementary school ended and I have been eagerly waiting for a call about a job for this upcoming school year. I have not stopped talking about how amazing the show at Gillette was and how much fun I had. Taylor is an incredible performer and after seeing her, it really made me appreciate her and all she does for her fans. She sang change that night and it was in that moment that I closed my eyes and sang along and felt it in my heart that everything was going to be alright. Well, the next week, I got a phone call about an interview for a first grade position and I GOT THE JOB. I honestly can say that Taylor helped me feel calm and okay with the present and I feel that it was in that moment I was able to breathe and know that everything was going to be okay, with recovery, with a job, and with life.
