this includes ignoring these types of post. they are not looking to complain about or report this genuinely, they want exactly any type of interaction because they will get paid for it. for anyone who has not experienced it before, let this be a learning experience about choosing our battles. but the main strategy is to not engage, to lock fics, and to use either a completely different username to any of your other social media in AO3 or to post anonymously. sadly, ao3 has become a mainstream topic and it is reaching a lot of scrutinity, so authors and users who wouldn't like to be doxxed should be more careful. not everyone will want to understand and a lot of people are very conservative and purist and wish that everything caters to them. on the willmack side of things, it is naive to think they are not aware of it to some extent, and i am pretty sure the "shipping" is happening irl to them even if it is just for light chirping purposes. they clearly do not care. so just stay safe
