I’m sure I’m not the only one who has wondered why everyone in a remote, isolated Romanian/Transylvanian mountain village speaks and writes perfect English. My headcanon is that this is purely for the player’s benefit, but not what Ethan actually experiences.

The Winters have been living in Romania for a while at that point and they seem to be living a pretty normal life. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ethan had learned Romanian since RE7 – he might be really good with languages for all we know and not just the programming ones.

Thus, I like to think that with Miranda, Duke, Dimitrescu and Heisenberg he likely spoke English most of the time. And I imagine his first meeting with Heisenberg went like this:

Heisenberg (in Romanian): “Well, well. Didn’t think anyone was left! You must be pretty tough, huh?” Ethan (in Romanian): “Who the fuck are you?” Heisenberg not only realises this guy doesn’t know who he is, but hears him speak with a heavy American accent. Heisenberg (switching to English): “Oh, you’re not local!...”

Now with the others, at least the Villagers, I believe Ethan spoke Romanian (& the Villagers probably have some very regional accent/dialect). It just makes more sense to me and actually would explain some moments of Ethan being confused or slow to pick up on things. It isn’t solely the weirdness of it all or Ethan not being the sharpest knife in the Caesar – it is also Ethan wondering half the time if he understood the people around him correctly.

Has Autism - Has a very strong sense of justice and wanting to help people

Is slightly allergic to cats and ends up sneezing a lot if he's been near any - Has "the most adorable sneezes" according to Chris

Is also lactose intolerant - Would have ended up taking up a whole section of the RPD office fridge with his almond milk

Loves almond milk

Married to Chris Redfield - Tried to convince Chris to take his last name (Claire settled it with a coin flip and nobody but those three know which surname won)

Shares six kids w/Chris - Sherry, Ashley, Grace, Rose, Lyla and Lincoln (Four canon characters & two OCs)

Sherry Birkin:

Does ballet - She wanted to do it ever since she was little but her parents were always too busy with work

Has a hoard of animal teddies, all of which were gifted to her by Claire, Chris and Leon

Ada Wong:

Did gymnastics as a kid, then went on to do aerial acrobatics - She still does it occasionally, when she can find the time

Occasionally drops by to babysit Chris and Leon's kids, much to Chris' annoyance - She once said she's surprised Leon didn't name Lyla after her and Chris almost threw her out the door XD

Jill Valentine:

Learnt Spanish just so she could tell Carlos off

Sees Chris as an older brother - Much to Carlos' relief

Struggles with infertility so it's highly unlikely she'd become pregnant or be able to carry to term - Carlos knows about this and said a) he loves Jill regardless and b) if they ever did want kids, he's more than happy to adopt with her

Carlos Oliveira:

Straight but likes to be pegged

Is Dyslexic - Specifically struggles with spelling and organising his thoughts on paper

Has puppy eyes (and knows how to use them)

Convinced Jill to adopt a little golden retriever - Jill named her Taco

A very proud dog dad <3

Ashley Graham:

Is lactose intolerant - Didn't find out until her early 20s when Leon picked up on it

Asked Leon to teach her how to use handguns after RE4 - She also took up archery as a hobby too

Luis Serra:

Bisexual King <3

Is actually left handed

Either wears boots with heels or high heels, refuses to wear any other shoes

Once drunkenly tried to kiss Carlos - Jill gave him a mean right hook for it

Likes to call Carlos "Carlito" (but only when Jill's not around because he'll get his arse kicked otherwise)

Has a tattoo on his left hip near his V-line - It was meant to be a womb tattoo but he chickened out at the last second

Has and will wear a bikini

Jack Krauser:

Has Plaque Psoriasis - It typically affects his upper legs but it can also affect his lower back and scalp

Chris Redfield:

His full name is Christopher Joseph Redfield - And yes, Leon is the type of husband to shout Chris' full government name just to annoy him XD

Is Dyslexic - Specifically struggles with reading comprehension and reading black text on white paper

Married to Leon S Kennedy - Tried to convince Leon to take his last name

Can't tell his left and rights - Chris gave up trying to teach him XD

Treats Piers like a little brother (even though there's only a years difference between them)

Albert Wesker:

Has sensitive eyes (which is why he's always wearing sunglasses)

Gets regular nose-bleeds - Had a secret stash of tissues hidden all over RPD because of them

Will happily partake in Kareoke when he's drunk

Refers to cuddles after sex as "post-coital cuddles"

In 2006, a baby was left on his doorstep with a note saying he was the father (At first he thought it was a joke, but a DNA test and thinking back to one of his drunken kareoke nights confirmed he was) - So he took the baby in and named him Dominic Wesker

Jake Muller:

Is a really good singer - Sherry found this out when she overheard him singing in the shower one time

Sings in the shower

Doesn't drink alcohol or smoke (which has surprised a few people)

After their father died in 2009, he took in his half-brother Dominic and became his legal guardian

Ethan Winters:

Has hayfever which got worse after the events of RE7

Is Vegetarian - Has been since he was a teen

Had the name "Rowan" picked out, if Rose was a boy, after the Rowan tree, which symbolises protection and strength in Celtic folklore (my 1st Rose headcanon will help this make sense)

Mia Winters:

Developed OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) after the events of RE7 - Particularly struggling with health anxiety

Rosemary "Rose" Winters:

Many people think she's named after a flower (Rose), but she's actually named after a herb (Rosemary) which are known to heal characters throughout RE

Her natural hair colour is silvery blonde - Neither Ethan or Mia have any idea where the silver came from

Has a cochlear implant because she's hard-of-hearing - A result of Mia having been infected by Eveline in RE7

Has what looks like vitiligo across her torso and limbs due to her powers

Plays the drums

Was asked to dye her hair (so she wouldn't be as easily recognised) but she refused - She said the blonde and his jacket is what her Dad gave her

Grace Ashcroft:

Adopted Emily and gave her the same surname - She also gave Emily the middle name Alyssa (after her mother)

Let Emily adopt a Ragdoll Cat, which she named Enzo

Took Emily on a little roadtrip to her favourite childhood places

Emily Ashcroft:

Taught Grace braille

so, i have a little bit of a confession to make. lately i've been having the worst writer's block on this story, like every time i sit down to write it’s just made feel frustrated and shitty about myself. i debated for a while whether i'd hold off on posting more spoiler-ish concept art for later stuff in the fic i wanted to make, (or just scrapping everything,) and figured waiting on doing something that currently isn’t making me feel great probably wasn’t the right call.
