ang ganda ng pakiramdam ko today kasi naka 8hrs akong tulog. i asked the mother kung pwede niya ako ipagdrive sa diversion para makapaglakad naman ako. first time ko bumalik dun ng sabado tapos ang galing kasi andaming nagbebenta ng inumin at makakain hehe. cooperative din ng weather recently dito sa probinsiya.

feel ko lang my birthday gets a little weird every year, but i just don't want to absorb the negativity. well kasi just days after my birthday, my sister is scheduled for surgery. a minor one, i hope. and then biopsy, which makes the situation even more terrifying. i don't have much details kasi i don't want to be confronted with my fears.

gosh, walang nakakaalam kung gaano kaimportante sa akin yung kapatid ko. seeing your ate in pain, knowing she barely sleeps at night, feels like a slow death for every younger sibling. iniisip ko na lang na the upside is that i get to look after her for a few weeks.

lord, yan nalang birthday gift mo sa akin, please? na sana gumaling na si ate ko.

but yeah, vince drove rodge and me to tonic for an after-lunch drink. it's roughly two hours away from the city where we live. a bit far, but i never complained (i wasn't even the one driving in the first place, aarte pa ba?). also, the cafe mimics the one we used to have in cebu, kukuk's. such a great vibe.

the philippine government is preparing to sign the PAX SILICA agreement, which is a proposed U.S.-led AI and semiconductor hub that would bring massive data centers to new clark city, tarlac.

in countries with similar facilities, this has been observed :

higher electricity costs. according to the international energy agency, last year data centers used around around 485 terawatt-hours . that is equivalent to annual electricity generation of germany. [1]

massive water consumption. large data centers can consume up to 5 million gallons per day, equivalent to the water use of a town populated by 10,000 to 50,000 people [2]

increased pollution. the amount of energy used by ai data centers increases carbon emissions [3]

constant noise and light.

data centers generate noise levels that may exceed 90 decibels. noise levels above 85 decibels are harmful to hearing.

hyperscale facilities require all-night lighting that disrupts the natural (circadian) rhythms of the body, including melatonin production (the hormone that regulates sleep) and sleep-wake cycles. [4]

some places like chile have even halted or challenged these projects over concerns about water security and their impact on local communities.

despite these concerns, the agreement is reportedly moving forward without meaningful public consultation. questions have also been raised about its land use and proposed legal privileges.

We, the undersigned, call on the Philippine government to halt the signing of the Pax Silica agreement until a full, independent, and public environmental, health, and economic impact review is conducted — with real consultation with the communities who will live next to this hub

sobrang swerte ko sa friends, no joke. after so long, i finally get to hang with my closest friends, rodge and vince. we went to three different spots, jumping from one topic to another. vince also drove us around, from the city to the neighboring town.

tapos pa i love how my friends just casually dissected maki's kahel na langit hahahaha then vince went on sharing a few songs of maki that i haven't heard yet. ang galing kasi nagkaroon kami ng listen party sa mga kanta ni maki while on our way to our next stop. i love maki now! to be fair, gusto ko talaga ang kahel na langit at dilaw. i love my friends so much too.

if this is what healing looks like—peaceful, gentle, and not too forceful—then i am taking it with all my heart. slowly but surely it is.
