Empress Elisabeth had a fascinating history before her murder. She was from royalty, yes, but she was raised in a very country way. She was obsessed with her beauty and her health, but she was also kind -- many of the common people loved her. However, despite how beloved she was, she was stabbed by an anarchist and died in 1898. So she, like Ai, was put on a pedestal and had to work so very hard to keep up appearances. She was beloved. But, because of this high standing, she was a target for the unhappy and unsettled ... and ultimately suffered death for it. Based on the portrait of Empress Sissi by Winterhalter (1865).

So. I realize that all the other platforms are shoving sf video in our faces and so we BEND TO THEIR WILL.. and I thought. You know what? I’m not gonna deny Tumblr that cookie. Here you go Tumblr. Have a cookie! I was going to call it scrummy kind of like scrumptious, but why does ‘scrummy’ sound like an insult? Anyway. Enjoy! /ramble

Laputa: Castle in the Sky! I had a lot of fun with this one (and painting all the flowers!). I've long been a fan of this classic Ghibli film, and wanted to do something bright and airy! Here we have a gentle caretaker Robot with their scarf of summer florals and bird friends to keep them sociable. Also invited a fun little guest from Spirited Away :) I went through the process of how I painted these rocks over on my YT -- so if you are curious, go check it out!
