As you get older, you really start to understand more about why people drink the night away, smoke their lungs black, or throw themselves off buildings.

Part of me wants to drop out of college and go travel the world. Part of me wants to work really hard in college and change the world. Part of me wants to not work hard at all and marry rich. And the other 97% of me just wants to sleep.

And you tried to change, didn’t you? Closed your mouth more. Tried to be softer, prettier, less volatile, less awake… You can’t make homes out of human beings. Someone should have already told you that. And if he wants to leave, then let him leave. You are terrifying, and strange, and beautiful. Something not everyone knows how to love.

That was how dishonesty and betrayal started, not in big lies but in small secrets.

So, do it. Decide. Is this the life you want to live? Is this the person you want to love? Is this the best you can be? Can you be stronger? Kinder? More compassionate? Decide. Breathe in. Breathe out and decide.
