Seen something recently and I wanna make a very brief post about something in it as it's the only thing I CAN speak on—This is Skitzo

Skitzo's name is unfortunatly VERY CLOSE to a slur for schizophrenic people, said slur in question is the abbreviation for the word schizophrenia itself which has a totally different but people often pronounce the slur like Skitzo's name. I honestly don't believe Skitzo's name itself is a slur as I would like to add that Skitzo himself doesn't have schizophrenia or have any sort of mental illness similar, he himself is just a demon who forgets he's a demon which is why he's sometimes aloof in his series. The naming convention is rather unfortunate but I don't think it was came up with with any malicious intent in mine, especially when Skitzo himself isn't schizophrenic.

Really don't wanna be roped into drama here and the first reblog of this post before you made me jump a bit but I feel like I should say something, especially since said people who talk about me to others tend to do it solely off some vendetta against me, however I really don't believe Skitzo is problematic on the basis that he was never and is not meant to be a caricature and doesn't represent anybody with schizophrenia himself when he himself doesn't have voices in his head or have schizophrenia—post from the creator herself:

I'm not just calling this character a "crazy demon" because he IS a demon in hell as that's apart of the characters' lore, I can admit the name is very, VERY fucking unfortunate but it's not used in a derogatory or degrading manner towards schizophrenics when the character isn't supposed to represent them in anyway shape or form, Skitzo doesn't belittle anyone or is supposed to stigmatize them and I understand a small portion of people (mainly kids) who indulge in the media he's from may assume he has schizophrenic based on his name and that IS an issue, but given those who do this are kids it's a case of them simply not knowing better and anybody who actually knows Skitzo as a character understands he is not actually schizophrenic

I will conede on the name portion as I mentioned it's unfortunate and that aspect isn't defendable and was made during a very edgy period of the Internet with the character specifically originating from newgrounds which I doubt I have to explain what type of website that is. I think the creator more than anything was influenced by the people who'd use the slur as slang for someone who was insane/manic since that was pretty prominent up until 2020 (and still used loosely years after) and I think more than anything that was moreso due to the lack of awareness that was common place where words like that were thrown around.

Skitzo's name is the result of lack of awareness and yes it isn't good, but I really don't think the character should be shunned solely off his poor naming scheme—especcially when his name is the rarer variant of said slur to the point the word Skitzo itself could fully belong to the character and not be used for derogatory purposes since as I said the character has no ties to being a caricature other than bad name. I look at him through the lens of other characters in an age where something they had wasn't very acceptable, for example (and I'm so sorry for using this example due to the situation going around which I wish to not be dragged into but it's the first that comes to mind) Felix the cat who started off as a racist caricature using minstrel tropes and actually shares some traits with those tropes still, but since then he's been far detached to where he's something different, I'd argue this could be viewed the same for Skitzo. I'd also like to apologize for the remark about Skitzo not hearing voices, my example was given purely to display the borderline which the character has being—he has no outside factor effecting him in what he does, he's just straight up from hell

Okay so personal issues happened between me and my now ex-friends, nothing inherently crazy, just petty one-sided beef because my ex-friend had a crush on me while I was taken, and I put my foot down after a lot has already been said and done before and during a public call in my server (aka I have witnesses)

I removed that friend from my life because I respectfully just couldn't excuse it anymore

Everyone chose him and blocked me... okay fine.

I never suspected they would frame me with (most likely personal) information to get me banned in the Official MOTM Server, BUT THEY DID

I never broke any of the rules at all so I'm assuming they used LITERAL VENTS against me to perceive me as a threat

That's just a theory

But just know there are people in the MOTM server who are now I suppose framing others when they dislike them

I never realized how petty these people are and I apologize for not seeing this sooner

There's more I like to say about this situation but that's between me and the mods to discuss, because what the fuck

To my ex-friends who can probably see this, I'm genuinely hurt by you all, I thought you all cared about me, but the moment I defend myself for once and my partner when you all actively encouraged me to speak up, you all threw me to the side without a second thought, without considering my words into actual thought, without understanding how I felt behind closed doors

I don't understand what you all wanted from me, and I even considered reaching out to try talking about it so we can be on better terms, but I made my peace on what this says about you all

I even wished you all the best, and you go ahead and stab me in the back TWICE now

Hello! I'm the person mentioned in this post, and I'd like to clear a few things up!

Alot of information was left out in this post, from the fact he is a cannibal, to the fact I was upset with his partner being that he said an ablesit slur.

Now you can say he "didn't know!" But after I had educated him, wanna know what happened? He said it, a total of THREE MORE TIMES. Explaining that he yumed with the character and didn't wanna call it anything else when I provided suggestions.

Later I found out that the character in question? Literally a SCHIZOPHRENIC ARCHETYPE. Made to VILLAINIZE schizophrenics. Hey would you believe it, I'M A DIAGNOSED SCHIZOPHRENIC.

Ahem, also proof that oswald continues to use the slur.

Now, onto Felix. You were not kicked because of petty drama, despite what you may believe, you were kicked because you are a cannibal that has had WILLING THOUGHTS of eating a minor.

Felix, you are 19, a grown adult. You should NOT be welcoming these thoughts! Claim I'm sharing your vents or whatever, but you shared mine too! You started this, and i am putting an end to it by setting facts STRAIGHT.

The Question.

“Cuphead?” The smaller, more slim brother gently pushed the others door open, a soft creak echoing around the area.

The other brother turned to see his older sibling standing in his doorway, a worried expression plaguing his features. “Yeah? What’s up, Mugsy? You don’t look.. okay.”

Cuphead turned his body to face him completely, his legs crossed and planted on his bed. He patted the spot next to him, his eyes filled with a brotherly concern he ALWAYS has.

Mugman stared at him, and then slowly pushed the door open even more, slowly moving himself into the room. His eyes looked.. puffy. Was he crying before hand?

Cuphead was surprised he didn’t notice earlier. He immediately lowered his tone, his eyes narrowed. He isn’t upset at his brother, more so he’s upset he didn’t notice any sooner.

“Mugs? What’s goin’ on.”

He asked again, but he said it quietly this time, with a more firm tone then earlier.

Mugman stared at the door, his eyes starting to water again. He wiped those tears away fast. He doesn’t want to cry in front of someone. Especially Cuphead.

“Can I- tell you something?”

There wasn’t anything extra to that sentence. Just simple, short and to the point. Cuphead didn’t appreciate that. He’d much rather hear a throughough explanation of the question or the main point of the whole conversation itself. He liked listening to Mugman rant anyway, so why won’t he do it now?

“Yeah, you can tell me anything..? You’re really startin’ to scare me.”

“I’m not tryin’ to..! It’s - Complicated. You just have to promise you won’t be mad at me.”

The words hung in the air, but shot like a bullet. Cuphead stared at his brother for a long time, almost as if he was completely shut off from that alone. What could this possibly be about..? There’s nothing that hints to what’s going on, or anything that hints to what caused this anyway?? What’s going on?

“Sheesh, Mugs.. did you kill Elder Kettle..?”

“God no! Why would you even think that?!”

“It was a thought! You never ask me things like this, and you never act like this IN GENERAL! You can’t blame me..”

He grumbled, his eyes starting to linger around somewhere else, the wall maybe.

“Sorry for assumin’, just tell me what’s going o-“

“I wanna be a girl.”

Mugman blurted it out faster than he intended he would. His hand clamping over his mouth not long after.

Cuphead sat there, his eyes didn’t have any real emotion behind them at first, but then as minutes passed, he started to beam. He immediately got up and yanked Mugman into a hug, his arms practically breaking the other sibling in half.

“NO WAY! THAT’S AWESOME! Should we go buying you some dresses and makeup? What’s your new name? What’s the plan, silly?”

Mugman blinked, his body went still, that’s it? Just a confession and then his brother has a happiness burst? He felt his eyes watering again, his arms didn’t know what to do.

“H-How are you so okay with this..? I’m asking to be something I’m not..!”

Cuphead flinched, pulling back and holding his brother shoulders tightly. He stared into his eyes with a serious expression, his voice coming out firm and serious again.

“Hey. You wanna be gal! That’s fine with me, you’re still my sister, you’re still family, I’ll embrace it cause it means you’re comfortable in your own skin this way, no matter what I still love you..”

He smiled at his newly figured out sister, his arms wrapping around her not long after.

She stared at her brother as he spoke, finally realizing she’ll be accepted for who she wants to be, her eyes watered and she was already crying all over again, her own arms wrapping around Cuphead.

“You’re the best brother ever, Cups..!”

“I ain’t that great.. now let’s go shopping, we need to get you a whole new wardrobe!”

He pulled away, dragging her out the room with him while laughing. Things are going to get so much better from here on out.
