September 26th 2014, 43 Mexican student-teachers from the Ayotzinapa school in Guerrero disappeared after they were attacked by police. La Escuela Normal Rural de Ayotzinapa, an institution for young boys from rural backgrounds who wish to become teachers was founded on principles of equal education for the poor. It was said that the students were on their way to a commemoration of the 1968 Tlatelolco massacre when they were attacked. The Mexican government responded by blaming the drug cartels for their deaths. Families are left without answers, bodies are missing, and the government continues to silence efforts to find them; we, however, will choose to NOT remain silent. “Vivos se los llevaron, Vivos los queremos // Alive they took them, Alive we want them back.”
