My most recent work:
I have been adding pretty book coverings to things lately.
I especially think that the bible should reflect the joy, beauty and wonder it speaks about; I absolutely love how this one is turning out. It's giving such a sweet, bright and joyful 70's flower child vibe don't you think? It makes me happy every time I look at it.
I'm of the mind that if it sparks joy to see it; then you are more likely to pick it up and read it too. (Whatever helps right?)
The other book I've covered is an art journal; it's turned out really pretty too.
It's been nice to do a bit of crafting after such a long Haitus.
Feels like I'm doing something fulfilling y'know?
I hope you all have things in your lives that bring yous real peace, joy and purpose; that is so needed during these times where so many of us are doing it tough.
Don't give up.
You are not alone.
I'm here if you need to talk.
Take care,
Love from L.
Update~ Here is the finished and sealed Bible cover~ It turned out so cute!!๐๐๐ผ๐ธ
Don't be afraid to give your Bible covers, journals, notebooks, etc, your own personal touches; (within reason of course) you don't have to keep it plain and it doesn't have to be boring! You're allowed to impart a bit of your own personality on to it.
Art Journal that I'd covered with several scraps of different salvaged wrapping paper and sealed a couple of weeks ago.
I'm really happy with how it turned out; I love the colours, especially the reflective snowflakes.!๐
I also got a hold of some even prettier paper to use for another future project yesterday and I'm really excited to use it! \>v</ ~!!!
Anyway; don't be afraid to try projects like these -They also make some great, personal gifts for loved ones and friends!
That's all for now and happy crafting!๐ธ๐ผ๐ธ๐ผ
What I've been working on lately:
Designing the front and back design for a homemade magazine I'm making for myself and re-covering my art book that I had previously painted a while back, but never sealed because it never felt quite 'finished' (it still doesn't, but it's fine.) and because I was barely using it and I have a lot of thoughts, questions and research that I would like to do, (At some point.) so I have decided to make this barely used art journal into 'A Commonplace Book.'
Perhaps some of you from the writing and journaling community might've heard of it. It's a great place for me to jot anything and everything down without it being too rigidly structured, but also without it being chaotic either and I can still sketch and doodle in it if I want to.
So! If I can inspire you to make anything; why not get into some paper crafts and covered some of your journals and notepads?
Use what paper scraps you have to make a magazine that you can read/look at to inspire you on long car rides, commutes, travel, in waiting rooms, etc.
I'll show y'all some of the pages inside my magazine in another post if you're interested.
I hope you're doing well.
Take care.

Update~ What I've been working on lately.
Here's a peek inside the inspiration magazine I've been putting together for myself; I've just been filling it with pretty paper crafts at the moment. I don't have pictures of every page, but it's almost full now.
More update~
I have been wanting to turn this sketch into a painting for a while now, here is the result:
Also; Would anyone be interested in these sketches and paintings as phone backgrounds?
I'm thinking about selling them both individually and as bundles for a small, reasonable price.
Let me know if you're interested.
Otherwise; keep creating.
Art is what makes this world a better place.

Life Things:
My older sister, younger brother and I have started going to the movies again.
So far we've seen;
โขHow To Train your Dragon: Live Action.
We saw it a couple of weeks ago now and it was great! It was fun, funny and they stuck pretty close to the original story. We really enjoyed it.
It was also great to be able to just get out of the house and feel like we had our own lives and some freedom again.
Snacks:
๐ฟMovie theatre Popcorn.
๐ซChocolate malt clusters. (Similar-ish to Malteezers, but not quite and this was a less sugar version.)
๐ฏ๐๐ฅHoney Soy Chicken chips.
๐๐๐ฌ๐ปSugar free sour gummy bears.
๐ฅคNexba Cola canned drinks (Lower gi sodas).
โขJurassic World: Rebirth
This movie was pretty exciting, mysterious, fun and interesting. I haven't felt that much tension and like I couldn't tell what to expect next in a movie in a really long time! Definitely a fun watch!
Snacks:
๐ฟ Movie theatre Popcorn.
๐ฏ๐๐ฅ Honey Soy Chicken chips.
๐ซ Low Sugar Chocolate Freckles. (Chocolate covered in sprinkles.)
๐ฅค Low Gi lemon soda for me and low gi pink lemonades for my siblings.
While I'm not super Jazzed about these activities eating up most of what little money I get; it's for a good cause and that is keeping us sane and it's something that my sister, brother and I really bond over.
Although I will admit; about a quarter of the way through the movie or so I started feeling a little like; 'What am I doing with my life/wasting my time watching a movie? I should be working on something/doing more, etc,' but thankfully I was able to break myself out of that negative spiral and really just let myself enjoy the movie.
Because things have been really tough at home and the fun my siblings and I have together really does carry us through the tough times.
And even though money is tight and when it is tight; that doesn't mean we can't ever let ourselves indulge a bit and enjoy life. Plus, like I said; we really needed this.
Welp; those are my personal thoughts and my mini movie reviews!
Let me know if y'all know of any other good movies that we should try out next time!
They are going to have a 50th anniversary screening of Jaws sometime soon so maybe~ ๐๐ฆ
Anyways; have fun!
Byeeee ๐๐๐ผ
I've meant to re-visit this for a while.
A few months ago; my sister and I went to see Lord of the rings the extended editions marathon at our local movie theatre.
It was SO. COOL.
I had never gotten to see any of the original movies at the theatre before (Only The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smauge.), but there is absolutely nothing that beat the feeling of being able to see these ones for the first time and being the extended editions was just *Chef's kiss* the decadent icing on the cake.
SPOILERS!!!! (SKIP IF YOU WANT):
โMy all time favourite scene from the extended editions is where Sam and Frodo witness a convoy of elves singing as they are leaving Middle Earth and Sam says; "I don't know why, but it makes me sad." (Me too Sam; me too. ;3;)
โMy favourite scene in general from the theatrical version is where the Fellowship are stopped by Haldir and the other Marchwardens in the forest of Lothlorien. "The dwarf breathes so loud we could have shot him in the dark." ๐คญ๐คญ๐คญ
โWhen Aragon opens the two big double doors at Helmsdeep. (The loud, creaking sound it makes sounds like someone letting out a long fart and I'm here for it.) (Apologies if I've now ruined that scene for anyone, but someone else ruined it for me -probably myself and my own immaturity to be honest- but I'm also almost certain that someone else commented about it at some point too and now I just can't unhear it as a fart whenever I watch that scene.)
๐ข Least favourite scenes: When Haldir dies. -M-
๐ข The fact that his brother's have no lines.๐ฅบ
๐ขWhenever the elves go on about how easily mankind can be corrupted. (Who's own kind were corrupted and turned into orcs again?๐ค๐ค๐ค)
๐ข WHEN KING THEODIN OPENS HIS BIG MOUTH! OMO/ *Smacks him upside the head*!!
NON SPOILER STUFF, CONTINUE READING IF YOU WISH:
And after hours of sitting in a movie theatre chair with my back being the way it is; of course I was uncomfortable and had to get up, walk around, I even ended up on the floor on my knees at some points, leaning against a railing because it felt better that way, but it never got so bad that I had to quit and go home and I'm so grateful for that.
Snacks;
โข2x small blocks of Lindt chocolate ๐ซ๐ซ one was salted caramel, I cannot remember what the other was, but I would not recommend their brand anymore because they have switched from using real cocoa butter in to vegetable oil in their recipe. I get sick if I have it. (Tmi, I did get sick this time, but I was thankfully fine afterwards, but yeah, no more Lindt chocolate for me. Sad. u3u)
โขMovie theatre popcorn.๐ฟ
โขChips; spicy BBQ flavour. ๐ฅ
โขDrinks; Nexba, either Creaming Soda, or Cola drinks. Or maybe it was even Lemon lime bitters from the movies snack bar?๐ฅคAnyways.
โขLow sugar chocolate coated peanut chocolates. (Eating them with the popcorn is delicious. ๐)
โขRaspberry slurpee ๐ฅค
โขWe accidentally ended up waiting too long to order food from anywhere else so we had to order a pizza from the snack bar. From our movie theatre? I'm sorry, but I would not recommend doing that ever again. It was cold and didn't taste all that good.
โขWater ๐ง - Since we had never been to a movie theatre marathon before; we were seriously under prepared snack-wise, water-wise and food-wise. So we ended up overspending on those. Oops. >.< But! We know better for next time. uvu.
So! What would I do differently for the next movie marathon at my local theatre?
โขHave dinner, or lunch ordered ahead of time and have it delivered to the movie theatre.
โขBRING EXTRA, EXTRA WATER AND DRINKS. Seriously, you have no idea just how dehydrated you get, especially during the last movie and please don't just keep buying them from the snack bar like we were forced to, that's just ludicrous. And thermoses of coffee to start us off with.๐ (I know, not so great for hydration, but it will keep me warm! Movie theatres tend to be a bit too cold for me at first.)
โขBring more wholesome snacks with us. i.e. some fruit, maybe a homemade trail mix, homemade cookies, homemade sandwiches to snack on.
โขBring more snacks in general.
โขBring a comfy pillow.
โขDefinitely bring a jacket again.
โขDress a bit more comfortably.
The Verdict:
All around and absolutely wonderful experience; I had so much fun! \^0^/
And Lord of the Rings extended editions are some of my absolute favourite movies of all time. I would highly recommend that you watch them. uvu๐
See you next time!
Bonus: During the scene where Saruman is chanting at the top of his tower; my sister and I purposely mimic him wrong - it's a tradition that I started and now we HAVE to do it whenever it comes along- so there we were, quietly reciting our nonsense along with him in the movie theatre (so we didn't disturb anyone else), giggling like idiots. ๐ T'was fun. uvu

Writing to Republica Organic Coffee:
I wrote to one of my favorite coffee brands today; because I can and I kinda just wanted to try it, maybe get some practice, exposure and rejection therapy all in one go; just to see what happens/how it goes.
Also to show myself and others like me who are anxious to reach out to anyone, for any reason, that it's really not as bad, or as scary as it seems.
'You may get a dozen or many more No's and they can mean little to nothing if you choose, but it's that one YES that can change the entire trajectory of your whole life.'
Anyway; here's the email I sent.
'Dear Jacqueline Arias,
May this message find you well.
My family and I are big fans of your coffee! (Especially your instant decaf.)
I'm writing to you because I am interested in learning about what would it take to become a representative, Affiliate, or Ambassador of your wonderful product?
I'm thirty two; creative, passionate and detail oriented. I spend my time as a freelance artist, a product designer, a writer and I would love to be considered for any future products where my skills might be of service to you and your company.
Now, you're probably wondering; why should you choose me?
An excellent question.
Allow me to enlighten you.
Reason One: Because I know how important coffee is.It's a part of many of our lives, daily rituals and often how we connect with one another.Walking into a room filled with people somehow just feels a lot better with a cup of coffee in your hands. It's an ice breaker, a conversation starter and gives us all easy access to sip on in comfort through awkward silences.
Reason Two: I adore your products, I use your products and I'm good at embellishing the things I love. I'm also just a regular person like the rest of your customers; that means you'll have the advantage when it comes to building a rapport with them, through me.
Reason Three: Because your coffee will look Amazing in the new line of latte mugs that I'm currently designing. If we were to combine our powers of product and produce together; it shall create a vortex of fun, creativity and prosperity that no one will be able to resist! I look forward to receiving your answer with great anticipation!
Thank you for your time.
Yours Respectfully,
Lorren.
P.S. Here is my email if you would like more information. (Re-dacted)'
I'll share an update when and if I have one.
Thank you for reading and let's see what happens!
Miss L.
I cannot remember if I ever updated on this but; UPDATE:
I never got a reply as far as I'm aware and that's fine; a little disappointing of course, but fine.
I'm glad I tried it and that's what matters.
Have I tried anything similar since?
Not that I recall; I haven't been 'Super' interested in pursuing anything else in that field and have just been trying to survive as of late.
Things have been rather heavy, but still good of late. Just exhausting you know?
I know many of you can relate.
Other Side Quests Update:
I got dropped off at one of my local beach hotspots the other week and started painting again. (I'll post a pic of my progress another time)
I was in a pretty great spot and had a few people comment on it; I hadn't painted in public for a really long time, so it was encouraging.
I was pretty sore and ended up getting sunburnt by the end of it , but I really enjoyed it.
It's hard to find the energy to keep doing that however; even though I've been pretty down and restless lately.
I'm just tired.
I hope yous are all doing alright.
Keep going.
You're doing better than you think.
Take Care.
L.
P.S. There will be more sidequests to come!
We Want to hear from you:
Okay so, first off; my sister and I are opening a new shop together called Bundles & Blooms.
Our theme consists of flowers, critters, cute & pretty themed items.
This is our second rodeo (officially).
We go to local markets; we are also looking into opening a new online store, but we're not sure which platform/platforms to go with.
We're after something simple and easy for both us and our customers to navigate.
Here's what we make:
I paint, I sketch, I design and print physical products such as shoes, mugs, etc:
โMy sister makes earrings, keyrings, necklaces, etc. โฌ๏ธโ
So, my questions are;
โขAre you interested in purchasing these kinds of items?
-If not; what items would you like to see instead?
โขIf so; on what platforms would you prefer?
-Kofi
-Fourthwall
-Suggest another platform
Please forward your suggestions; we'd love to hear from you!
Take care,
~L.
A World of Nothing.
'Desperate to find Meaning in a society that appears to have everything, but refuses to truly stand for anything.'
'I have found myself feeling rather lost of late.
Well, I have spent most of my life feeling this way, truthfully.
To the point where I want to quit all manner of society altogether.
For it is all so pompous, proudly parading around in its bejewelled fancy and falsehoods. Fronted by charlatans almost at every corner.
Of course, it still can be a good way to stay in closer contact with friends and perhaps make new ones who are just as weary of society as I am, but otherwise it is just a whole lot stuff, nonsense and unnecessary noise-bah!
And You, dearest reader, you already know, don't you?
You already feel it; the heaviness of floss, fluff and fakery that weighs you down like a heavy cloak made of iron that has been covered with glittering, poisonous, plastic ornaments.
What is my point might ask?
Precisely.
I don't know what the point to all of this is.
This seemingly never ending circus of stupid, trilling, warbling, tomfoolery.
But I am desperate.
Desperate to find reason within it all.
Desperate to find meaning in a society that appears to have everything, but refuses to truly stand for anything.
Because, like it or not; I am in it.
We all are. Each to some varying degree.
And we must find some kind of solace in it.
Or we crack and shatter to pieces beneath the weight of it.
This whole parade of nothingness.
This charade of comradery and united togetherness.
That is all pleasant, toothy smiles; gleaming like the blades hidden behind our backs...
A world of nothing.
Even amidst all of the noise it makes...
It's hollow...
And If I do not find some kind of meaning, some kind of 'worthwhile' in all of this- this sea of debauched, twittering and twinkling, verminous, venomous pit of drunken, luminous madness...
Then I too might be crushed beneath the weight of its calamitous wretchedness and frivilous whims.
Until...
I have no more desires.
No wants, needs, or thoughts of my own.
Until I begin to look like them, sound like them, move like them.
And before you know it-
We will all even begin to breathe in sync.
And the swarm would have claimed yet another mindless mass of flesh to assimilate to itself.
I do not desire that fate.
But I feel I have almost no more strength left and I know not whether to leave, or remain.
I have no more dreams left that I would wish to squander here for another moment; let alone more wasted years.
I do not wish to continue on here.
Not with, or upon this long and only seemingly sparkling societal train- with disease riddled rats and rot, scuttling, squeaking and stinking visibly in every corner and under nearly every seat.
And I definitely do not wish to be involved in what 'society' wants for me to do...
To paint on a smile and pretend like all of them.
But I Do desire to finally know what it is that I am 'meant to be doing'.
I want to truly bring something good into this place.
Not 'play pretend at it.'
~'A world of nothing'- An original piece by L. (Me) written from the perspective of a young woman from the Victorian era; stating her findings, sentiments and opinions on society.
Enjoy.
The Bear & The Dragon.
'Once upon a time there was a Bear and a Dragon living in a castle together.
The Bear was frustrated with the Dragon because the castle was continually crumbling all around them and had been doing so for years, but the Dragon refused to spend any more than a little bit of his gold at a time on repairs and he refused all outside help; so the castle was falling apart faster than it was getting fixed, but the Dragon refused to see it, or do anything about it.
Neither the Dragon, or the Bear cared to see how unhappy their offspring were living in such squalor either.
They just went about their days, bickering and fighting endlessly; blaming each other for this and that, not caring how any of it affected anyone else.
The Dragon thought that the Bear spent too much, but it was the Bear's own entitled gold.
The Bear thought the Dragon was too controlling, selfish and lazy.
But they both were the problem.
Instead of paying in gold to have more things in the castle repaired; The Bear spent it on more and more pretty items, but a lot of it just sat there, gathering dust because there was nowhere to put it and it only added to the ever mounting clutter.
And they still both continued to ignore their offspring.
The Dragon most often slept upon his favorite pile of gold most days while the Bear lumbered around the wild, overgrown gardens and forests that surrounded the crumbling castle.
Their offspring often stayed in their own rooms; the only source of sanctuary they could find if they were unable to make the journey into town.
It was a miserable existence.'
-An Original Piece by Miss L.
The Bear & The Dragon. Part Two:
"I Can't take this any more!" The Bear cried, confronting The Dragon one day.
"Our castle is falling apart around us and it seems like you don't even care!"
The Dragon looked both hurt, frustrated and deeply troubled.
"I Do care!" The Dragon insisted.
The Bear softened a bit and asked.
"Then why? Why won't you give more to fix it?"
The Dragon was quiet for a long moment.
Years ago; The Dragon would have flown into a rage, blustering and breathing fire about how much hard work was put in for this castle and all of those who reside in it daily; until everyone else was frightened into silence and no one would complain to The Dragon about the state of things again.
But inwardly; their unrest and discontent had only continued to grow; along with The Dragon's own ever mounting anxiety and list of things to do until now, they stood amongst the mess that was once their home and livelihood in the present day.
"I'm sad." The Dragon finally admitted.
"I'm sad and ashamed that I have let things fall this far."
"I'm just so tired, sad and anxious all the time...That I don't trust myself to make good decisions when it comes to how to spend the gold, or with fixing our castle..."
"And when I do finally find the courage to spend even a little to fix something...you always say that I focus on something that needs fixing less than other things." The Dragon said softly; not accusing, not blaming, merely stating the truth.
The Bear realizes that this indeed was so and softens even further.
"I see."
"I feel sad, ashamed and overwhelmed too." The Bear admits.
"One of the few things that brings me joy anymore is buying pretty things with what little gold you let me spend and walking through my forest gardens; even though it is also very overgrown now."
"But I see that I was just adding to our burdens and the mess as well..."
"We're sad too." The small voices of their Offspring piped up.
The Bear and The Dragon looked over and saw their little ones, standing there; both somehow taller yet younger, older and yet bigger and somehow smaller than they remembered -just how much time had passed without them even noticing?
How much had the curse of their decades long depression distorted?
"We don't like seeing either of you so unhappy and we don't like living in a castle that is falling apart, full of mold and dirty clutter, or having a garden and forest that is too overgrown and dangerous for us to play in."
"And we don't like seeing, or hearing both of you roar at each other instead of trying to fix things together." Their Offspring said; their voices soft and sweet; their words heartbreakingly honest and true as small ones so often are.
"It's okay to feel sad."
"It's okay to feel big things."
"And it's okay to ask for help."
"We might not be able to restore this castle to what it once was, but we can make it better; together." Their Offspring said sincerely.
The Bear & The Dragon looked at each other, then back at their Offspring, then back again; feeling both guilty and relieved.
"Yes, we can do that." They both said at the same time.
From that day on; everyone began pitching in.
Starting small tasks of cleaning and packing things away and slowly chipping at the piles of dirt, debris and garbage.
Sweeping more often.
Cutting the grass and trimming the trees in the forest garden until the castle slowly began to look and feel a little more like a home again.
And until they were no longer just The Bear, The Dragon and Their Offspring.
They became a close knit Tribe once more.
