Biography
Originally from Morocco, Loopnah Kaya is a singer/songwriter based in Brussels .
Kaya has been active in the music industry for almost 10 years. She began singing in a choir which led her to become lead vocalist in different bands, before she starts a solo career.
Her sound showcases her influences that range from Soul, Hiphop, RnB and Jazz to Gnawa and Arabic music as well as electronic music stemming from her career as a sound engineer.
Kaya represents a new generation of independent, free North African women. Her music is not just about her philosophy, but rather her lifestyle.
Kaya has been collaborating with her best friend and producer Sheikk (Omar Ibouten) who she has known and worked with since 2008. Their official first project called 'Purple "bedroom tape" will be released in March 2014. "Purple bedroom tape" is a mash up of new beat and Neo Soul vibes , Rnb , Hiphop, Trap, with a sprinkle of Middle Eastern influences.
The first single off her upcoming EP "Lady" was released in December 2013.
