Tarlos and Jonah's First Halloween, Part 3 of 3 🎃

Happy Wednesday, everyone! My Halloween special is finally done and I can not wait to share it for @lonestarspooktober this Friday 🎃 Here's a little snippet <3

“Fuck, baby,” TK mutters, swiveling his hips as he slowly starts to give himself over to desire.

“That’s all I wanna do,” Carlos moans and TK swears he hears it trail off into a whine. “All I’ve wanted to do all week,” He continues, sloppy kisses starting to make TK’s neck wet. “All I’ve wanted to do since I first looked at you. Always knew you’d look pretty screaming my name.” 

“Holy shit,” TK punches out before fully turning around and throwing his arms around Carlos’ neck, kissing his lips as if trying to devour him whole. Guess Carlos isn’t the only one that was starving. 

Carlos lifts him up and TK wraps his legs around his waist, head floating at the thought of just how easy it was for Carlos to do so. Carlos places him down on the island, their lips touching the whole time. 

After a beat, Carlos snarls out, “Maybe we should take this to the bedroom?” 

“Why?” TK asks back, teeth finding a new place to sink themselves into. “Couch is right there.” 

Thunder crashes outside, causing them to pull apart. Carlos’ head cuts to the side, looking outside the window. He grins devilishly when he sees the sky becoming overcast, a steady pour starting to fall. 

Suddenly, the couch feels fifty miles away, but it’s a trek Carlos would be willing to make barefooted.

Someone To Sit In Your Chair, And Ruin Your Sleep

It’s the middle of the night, and TK and Carlos have to pick a devastated Jonah up from his first sleepover when a scary movie freaks him out a bit too much. Back in the safety of their home, the three of them have a sleepover of their own.

“Okay. Baby who is not a baby. Do you want Papa to come sit in the back with you while we drive?” Carlos smiles at Jonah softly – a smile as if to say, “That’ll be fine with me.” Jonah faces the window again. That was brief. “No,” he says, “No…just leave me here.” TK and Carlos look at each other for a second before they have to look away, or they’ll crack up. “We’re not having that,” Carlos tells him, opening his door and getting out. He hops into the backseat with his boy and reaches an arm around his shoulders. Jonah doesn’t protest, partly because Papa Carlos is so warm. “You’re warm,” Jonah tells him, and holds onto Carlos' wrist to keep him there.

I hope everyone is having a great week! I wanted to share a little more from my upcoming Spooktober fic! I didn't think I'd have time to paticipate, but I'm so happy I've been able to. This fic wouldn't exist without the prompts for 'Cosy Nights In' and 'Halloween', so big love to the @lonestarspooktober organisers 🧡

“You’re sure you don’t want to talk about it, sweet boy?” TK asks one more time.

Jonah nods. But the nod means no. It's in the shaky breath he takes. TK can sense it, so he waits.

A few seconds later, Jonah whispers, “The mommy that’s the Other Mother has buttons for eyes. And she turned into a spider.”

“That sounds really scary.”

“It was.”

The door to the ensuite bathroom unhelpfully opens with a haunting creak, but it's just Carlos wandering out – a walking cuddle in his green pajama pants and a gray tank top. He stops beside Jonah’s floor-bed with his hands on his hips. “You’re really far away for kissing goodnight.”

Jonah grins and brings his arms out of his sleeping bag, reaching for his papa. Carlos gets down onto his knees, kisses Jonah’s head three times for luck, and hugs him tight.

Carlos gets into bed by clambering over TK, all hands-and-knees, rather than walking around to his own side sensibly. TK shoves at him, chuckling, and Carlos simply responds by turning TK into the little spoon.

“Mijo,” Carlos says, reaching beyond TK for the switch of the bedside lamp. “Can we try without the light?”

Jonah frowns at him. Once more, he had not anticipated that the light would go out. Why does he keep thinking everybody’s going to leave the light on? They’re not babies, and neither is he. “Um. Okay.”

“I’m right here,” TK whispers, and keeps stroking Jonah’s brow. “Let’s think about our mommy’s eyes instead.”

“Just like yours,” Jonah whispers back.

“That’s right.” TK sighs. He feels hot, stinging tears rise, the way they do when he thinks of her sometimes, without warning. He doesn't fight it. “And when I look at you, I see you through her eyes too. I see you for her. It’s a really special thing.”

Jonah goes quiet and still. Carlos holds TK a little tighter around his middle, and kisses his shoulder.

Happy Sunday! I’ve kept this one under tight wraps the past couple of weeks, but now that it’s published, I’m pleased to share some sentences from the fic that @ironheartwriter and I wrote together for @lonestarspooktober: I will follow you into the dark with very amazing art by @whatsintheboxmh that can be found here. I hope you check out this fic, and enjoy it if you do! 💕

Physically, Carlos is in his early thirties. In reality though, he’s in his sixties. Sometimes his age shows, when Carlos wears his old man robe and slippers around the house, or how he still prefers the paper to reading the news on his phone. He gets frustrated at his computer sometimes, and he doesn’t always understand the colloquialisms the people his supposed age use sometimes. TK finds it endearing. He’ll ruffle Carlos’s hair and call him a grandpa, but it’s all out of love.

And TK really has been the only one for him. All these years, Carlos was content to live this life, to bear this burden on his own. He dated, he hooked up with men, he even found others like him. But none of them ever felt right. They never felt like men he wanted to spend eternity with. Then the epitome of human sunshine dazzled his way into his life and Carlos was done for. There is no denying TK Strand of anything he wants, Carlos would never dream of it. Even if it meant he could no longer deny TK of himself.

And now, Carlos can no longer deny TK entry into his immortal world.

Spooktober Week Three: Supernatural Witchcraft Moodboards - Elemental Witch Mateo

“Oh awesome!” He shouts. “Hey check this out!” TK turns with the rest of them to see Mateo standing next to an old lantern. As he moves his hand closer to it, the light inside shines brighter and when he pulls it away, it dims. He moves his hand closer again, placing a finger on the lantern and the light becomes blindingly bright and starts to change colors.

“I see you have the magic touch young man.”

Mateo jerks his hand back turning to look at the woman who had appeared out of nowhere. Had she been in the shop the whole time? TK Thought.

“I’m sorry.” Mateo says quickly.

She brushes off his apology. “That lantern is very finicky, it won’t work for just anyone.”

“For real?”

“Indeed.” She says. “See for yourself.” She steps closer to the table and places her hand near the lantern. It flickers but it doesn’t change the way it had when Mateo had touched it. “Energy magic was never my strong suit.” She admits. “But you, you have an abundance of it.”

To my own surprise, I have written a @lonestarspooktober fic! And I think it's sweet and I'm excited to share it late next week 🥰🎃🍂 In which eight-year-old Jonah is scared in the night, and is trying to sleep with TK and Carlos in stealth-mode (ie. without them knowing):

Directly under Jonah’s ribs is somebody’s large foot. It’s impossible to tell who this large foot belongs to, because both papas are tangled together beneath the covers.

Jonah shifts so he can lie in the fetal position, but his knees tucking upwards knock into somebody’s shin.

“Giant cinnamon roll–” Carlos says in his growly voice.

Jonah freezes. Busted. “Yes?” he answers sweetly.  

Carlos starts to sit up. His foot squeezes out from beneath Jonah’s ribs. “What exactly are you doing?”

TK raises his head, hair all messy, and plonks it back onto his pillow. “Jonah…”

“I’ll just lie here,” Jonah informs them, “Y’all can go back to sleep.”

Spooktober Week Three: Supernatural Witchcraft Moodboards - Green Witch Nancy

“Wise woman.” The witch says as she crosses the shop to, presumably, get a better read on Nancy’s own brand of magic. “I see you already embrace your connection to Green Magic.”

“Green Magic?” Mateo asks.

“It’s like a connection to plants, flowers, herbs, things like that.” Nancy answers before the witch can.

“Well that makes sense, you love plants, you have like a thousand of them.”

“Ah, but its not just about plant life, green magic is often tied to all life, healing, especially.”

In a post-apocalyptic world, everyone knows to stay inside the camp and avoid the undead. Carlos used to live by the rules, but then he met TK. Now, when he watches TK smile at him, he wonders if everyone was wrong.

Carlos used to never like going past camp’s borders.

It meant a day of being vigilant and watching his back for both human and non-human dangers, though the former always scared him more. It meant a day of high adrenaline and higher stress, of his mother hugging him goodbye like she wouldn’t see him return that right. It meant an entire sector depending on him to return with something useful—medical supplies, baby clothes, non-perishables.

Now, Carlos has a reason to like his ventures beyond the armed gates.

Spooktober Week Three: Supernatural Witchcraft Moodboards - Time Witch Carlos

“I’m also sensing a disturbance in time,” she says, her eyes turning on Carlos. “Not an easy thing to control, don’t be surprised if you find the night speeding by if you’re not enjoying yourself or perhaps even slowing down if you don’t want the night to end.” “An endless Halloween party, sounds exhausting.” Carlos muses. “Don’t think about it that way, think of it as an endless night off work.” Nancy offers to everyone else’s agreement.

Spooktober Week Three: Supernatural Witchcraft Moodboards - Crystal Witch Marjan

“You have a lot of talent,” she says to Marjan, “powerful and versatile, which can be great but also a bit chaotic, even reckless at times, it’s best to combine your powers with crystal magic, to strengthen your abilities but also to focus them.” TK exchanges a look with Marjan, she looks more than pleased with the witch's assessment. Reckless, chaotic and powerful are all excellent ways to describe her.

Spooktober Week Three: Supernatural Witchcraft Moodboards - Kitchen Witch Paul

“We can see the magic in ourselves every day, even in the most mundane tasks, you would know a bit about that wouldn’t you?” The witch finally turns to Paul. “Being a kitchen witch, you probably use your magic most of all, infusing a bit of it into everyone of your beloved homecooked meals?" TK catches Paul trying hard not to roll his eyes. “Yeah, I suppose I do.” He agrees, likely to not ruin the spirit of the party and maybe to make the witch leave them alone.

Made some moodboards to go with my Halloween Fic that i'm slowly chipping away at. I was hoping it would be done in time for this week's prompt but unfortunately it will have to wait until Halloween Week. I'll post a snippet with each moodboard though.
