personally i think the saddest part of the season was carol going through hell trying to save and then bury her dead wife and then being abusively abandoned and subsequently love-bombed and sexually manipulated into compliance by the hivemind who were actively working on a way to colonize her brain and body without her consent, with the full knowledge that her conversion therapy trauma precludes her from EVER wanting to undergo the joining. i personally think everything that has ever happened to carol sturka is so fucking sad and the utter depths of her isolation and rejection by others leading her to the point where she's willing to flirt with suicidality bc she literally doesn't care if she lives or dies should've invoked a little more empathy than a fucking goat being sad that its caretaker no longer recognizes it. but that's just me, one of those mean lesbians everyone's so scared of
