So I've been watching Non Non Biyori Repeat/のんのんびより　りぴーと on Crunchyroll during my lunch breaks. This series is so cute. It's hard to -not- find it charming.

I got to the 4th episode where Renge decides to dress as a teruterubouzu...with kinda creepy results. XD

Sorry if this ends up being a spoiler of sorts. There's many more jokes to catch in the episode. :D

I've also been playing Fantasy Life on my 3DS, and I find it... fun in a tedious way.

I'm torn between liking and hating the fact it's so freeform. There's a story-mode you can opt to play and advance to parts of the game, and there's a task-driven-mode where you just fulfill requests and take on challenges to level up in your respective chosen "Life" (job, basically.)

I feel rather completionist about the game... wanting to level up efficiently, but because you sort of need to level up all the jobs at once, I have to repeat challenges/dungeons/monsters over and over and over. X_X; The crafting ones get extremely tedious, especially when you're tired. orz;;

But... aside from all that, it's a really cute game. I don't feel compelled to power thru (aside from when I do the story modes so I can unlock new areas) and can put the game down for extended periods of time without feeling guilty.

Just a few simple reasons as to why I enjoy having a posable arm for my Cintiq. (I have an 2nd gen 21UX.)

Around the time I started having severe back problems in early 2014, we tried all sorts of ways to improve my drawing posture. I tried everything from new chairs tolifting up my Cintiq onto a folding table ON TOP of my glass desk and converting it into a standing desk. The problem was the Cintiq stand only allows for a limited range of tilt and rotation, and the lower it is, the more desk space it took up. Not to mention, I had to -lean- up and over my desk to draw, which only aggrivated my back more.

I had held off from buying an arm for a couple reasons:

1) I have a glass desk and I wasn't sure how it would hold up. 2) I heard stories about it wobbling on the arm. 3) It would be a fixed height, so if I wanted to stand and work, it may not be an option.

But I did some research and found that Ergotron had recently released a sit-stand arm the Ergotron LX which improved the design for adjustable height and stability. It also worked up to the newer 22HD Cintiq size, so - perfect for me and my model.

Since installing it, it's been great. I can stand when I do data entry like accounting (I have a little foldable step stool that I put my keyboard on.) and can pull it close to me when I need to draw. I pair it with a cheapy kneeling stool (which IMHO is not very comfortable and takes some getting used to, but alleviates pressure on my lower back when sitting) and I have a workable solution.

As for the wobbles -- it hasn't been anything that I can't handle? I often pull it close to the desk edge, so maybe that stablizes it more?

On a side note, I've had a bunch of artist friends recently invest in portable tablet computers like the Companion or Surface with very mixed reactions. To be honest? I like having the screen real estate to work and the powerful computer run my programs. If I want portability, I work analog with paper, pens, and whatever coloring supplies I have.

Well, for those who have the computer and a Cintiq, I can't recommend investing in an arm enough~ You can also conveniently find them at Amazon! (I had to buy mine from a different vendor!) Lucky you! ★
