she’s the youngest daughter of king albert and the late queen anne and loves being the youngest
she was born with a congenital heart disorder called hypoplastic left heart syndrome and had to undergo several surgeries to get to where she is now, two of those surgeries were heart transplants, one artificial and another human ( which she currently has now )
throughout her childhood, she was in and out of the hospital, and it really took a toll on her, to the point that one of the outlets the nurses used to help her grow out of her fear of the hospital was giving her an alter ego named ‘lola’ which she never really grew out of
no one outside of the royal family and their closest aids know about éloïse’s condition. the general public just thinks that the youngest daughter is too shy for the public and the commotion they bring, it isn’t until several years after her last surgery that éloïse begins to partake in public appearances but even those were quite limited in the beginning.
as she grew older and was able to tolerate more activity, she began to frequently go with her parents wherever they went. becoming the adorable and lovable little princess of belgium.
as a child, éloïse had resented her illness for quite some time because it prevented her from doing many things, and enjoying her time with her family. she hated seeing them worry and concerned over her. now that she’s older and slightly more healthy, she does her best to keep them from worrying and hopes to only bring them smiles.
she doesn’t want her illness to define her, if no one asks, she’ll never tell. most of the time, when she says she’s sick, people immediately fret over her and that is the last thing éloïse wants. she’s been coddled her whole life, she doesn’t need others to do the same.
out of all her extended family, she’s closest to her grandma and loooooves her spunk, she thinks it’s great that one of her names is after her and hopes to live up to her awesomeness.
where her sister was very serious, and her brother rebellious, you could think of éloïse as a kind of middle ground, especially when needing to mediate between the two.
she lovers her family, and her relationship with most of them is very strong. her family has and always will be very important to her. in her mind, they come first before many things, even sometimes, before her own health.

as the youngest, one would expect her to be loved, but because she was also very sickly as a child, her family’s love was quite coddlish, so much so that as she grew up it made her want to be independent
but watch: the moment her siblings stop coddling her, lola gets all pouty and sulky because she lowkey loves when they spoil her rotten
she, herself, is quite clingy; especially with people she loves, she’s probably the friend calling everyday even if she doesn’t really have anything new to report
because she was indoors often as a child ( since her condition made her quite immunosuppressive ) she took up a lot of hobbies like painting, piano, knitting and chess.
now that she’s healthier, she has much more adventurous and doctor-approved activities she loves like horseback riding, hiking, swimming and tennis.
she’s quite the competitive person, despite how much her illness does prevent her from doing many things, she thinks she can do like the best of them, pretends that she can, even at the cost of her health at times.
she calls her medications ‘vitamins’, it’s a habit from when she was a child and another thing she can’t really grow out of; especially now when she’s healthier and would rather not have others know about her past struggles over her sickness.
with her mother gone, she helped louise locally with running the charities; it was one of the things she loved helping her mother with when she was alive and still wants to continue her plight in all the things she believed in.
she’s not as much of a health nut as she should be considering her health but she does love the outdoors.
but that’s mostly because she’s been kept indoors for most of her life.
she’s a pescatarian, and animal lover always; she’s trying to go vegan but her doctors don’t recommend it for her.
she’s rather happy go lucky, having lived much of her life without much expectations to be had, her parents never really wanted much from her except to live a happy, healthy life so of course, that led to her being much too free, much too nonchalant, and all the more optimistic about things
however, she does live a vegan lifestyle when it comes to the things she economically and materialistically consumes.
