But Dean and Castiel have absolutely, undeniably, transparently been queerbaited. They probably take the prize for #1 queerbait of all time, ever. If there were a textbook on queerbaiting, Dean/Cas would be held up in it as the quintessential, archetypal queerbait.

Let’s be real here. The Mass Effect fandom is going through a _weird _time. We’re waiting for a new game, grasping at straws and latching onto whatever news we might have and it’s only natural for everyone to get a little frazzled and on edge. We’ve all got our hopes and wants and wishes for Andromeda, and it’s an exciting, but also scary time. Because of this, there haven’t been many chances to enthusiastically talk about _why _we feel this way in the first place. 

So that’s why April 10th - April 16th will be Mass Effect Appreciation Week, a week dedicated to celebrating what the games mean to us and why we love them so much. Feel free to make gifs, art, fics, or even just long winded text posts to get all your feelings out. It’s all valid and it’s all good.

I’ve come up with some themes for the days, and you by no means need to abide by them. It’s all about positivity and enthusiasm, in any form. Let’s use the tag #meappreciation.

April 10th: Beginnings:  How did you find/begin playing Mass Effect? What were your first impressions?

April 11th: Happy Birthday, Shepard!: In honor of Shepard’s birthday, talk about what Shepard means to you? Talk about your Shepard, share caps, gifs, stories, etc.

April 12th: The Squad:  Take a day to celebrate squad members who have had an impact on you or who mean something to you.

April 13th: Missions: Which missions own your heart? Why?

April 14th: Relationships: Not just Shepard and the romance options, but anyone! Talk about bonds and relationships that mean a ton to you.

April 15th: Quotes: Which quotes from the trilogy have left an impact on you?

April 16th: Endings:  What significance does the end of the Mass Effect trilogy have to you? How does your Shepard’s story end and why is it important that it ends that way? Talk about head canons, theories, stories etc.
