This challenge is inspired by shipping-the-godsâ Spell-a-Day challenge, which is totally amazing and everyone who loves spell writing (or wants to become better at it, or both) should give it a shot!
This particular challenge is specifically for pop culture magic and will include spells, curses, and other types of magic.
Day 1: Write a spell inspired by the first fandom or character that made you interested in pop culture magic.
Day 2: Write a curse inspired by the first fandom or character that made you interested in pop culture magic
Day 3: Write a spell based on a lesser-known and/or less popular fairy tale
Day 4: Pick a fandom in which magic exists and write a spell or curse in the magical style of said universe
Day 5: Pick a fictional character that you are most similar to and write a spell inspired by them.
Day 6: Write a spell based on a common theme or concept from a fictional universe of your choice.
Day 7: Pick a character from a kidsâ cartoon that you watched growing up and write a spell inspired by them.
Day 8: Write a spell based on your favorite song.
Day 9: Write a curse based on an angry song that gives you strength.
Day 10: Write a very serious spell for a very silly (or impossible to achieve) topic, inspired by a silly or impossible character.
Day 11: Write a protection spell inspired by a pop culture object designed for protection (ex. anti-possession tattoos from Supernatural)
Day 12: Pick a song that lots of people hate and write a spell or curse inspired by it.
Day 13: Pick a quote from a fictional character and use it as the basis for a spell.
Day 14: Write a spell for strength inspired by a video game character.
Day 15: Pick an object from fiction known to cause harm and write a curse inspired by it.
Day 16: Create a bathing spell or ritual inspired by any song that references water.
Day 17: Write a curse based on your favorite childhood villain.
Day 18: Pick a movie that scared the living shit out of you when you were younger and write a spell designed to overcome fear.
Day 19: Write an enchanting spell based on a popular toy.
Day 20: Write a spell based on your Hogwarts house.
Day 21: Write a curse based on your Hogwarts house (cuz letâs be real, every house has a darker side)
Day 22: Write a spell inspired by a less popular disney, pixar, or dreamworks lady.
Day 23: Write a spell or curse inspired by a PoC character.
Day 24: Write a spell or curse inspired by an LGBTQ+ character.
Day 25: Pick either a song or a quote from a character and write a spell that involves no spoken words.
Day 26: Create a spell inspired by a lesser known or non-mainstream musical.
Day 27: Write a glamour spell based on a fictional character that makes you feel like a badass.
Day 28: Write a spell or curse inspired by a fictional location.
Day 29: Write a spell about darkness inspired by a fictional non-human creature.
Day 30: Write a spell or curse inspired by a book, avoiding super popular ones like Harry Potter.
Day 31: Create a spell, curse, or glamour that you would never have thought to write before doing this challenge.Â
