i think something is really lost when we whitewash cards like the Death card or the Tower into being about "a change" in the abstract. specifically, there are lots of cards that are about change. like a good half the deck is about something new starting, something old ending, or something changing shape.
and like, endings arent always bad, sure. upheavels arent always bad. also sure. but why are you softening your message instead of speaking clearly and then guiding someone through the work of coming to terms with whats going on?
