While the story of Cain and Abel is very much implied inspiration of the show, mainly for Caine's arc, I also thought there were also some parallels to the Garden of Eden story as well. Though I came up with a few different ideas on how this would have occurred. The idea I stuck with most has to do with Scratch and Caine proposing a deal like with Eve and the serpent. The deal would have involved the gift of the apple(s) where Scratch's project will keep him alive but results in the worst return of being trapped in the circus and inevitably the abstractions, starting with him.

#post-9 this ends up being less plausible so now this just serves as a fun little idea #Either way I think the end results of both make sense if you consider the circus and the abstractions as their version of “damning humanity #part of me wants to use the au tag but i don't want to confuse people #the amazing digital circus #tadc #tadc caine #slightly inspired by wine red #making snake caine was fun too

Abstraction Pending | Anatomical concepts and notes

Humans have a core made of their memories from the macroverse and their general psychology/emotions/etc. being transported into their circus avatars. It's made of their neuro scans and an additional heart. The heart is what keeps the avatar running in it's active state, and what keeps them from abstracting.

AIs have similar structures like humans. Except they lack a heart. While they can still feel emotions that can even feel as real as humans, much of it is still artificial. An AI doesn't abstract since they're part of the computer basically. But they can still be deleted or reset otherwise.

(Most have one single core but caine has two existing. Just that one has more control in the code.)

More stuff about cores.

Assets are just geometry. They can be easily created and deleted.
