Regarding your question:

I'd imagine, to begin with, they weren't very impressed by Kitty. Kitty is rather small, shrimpy, and overall weird, so they're far from what everyone was expecting of Shedletsky's "chosen hero". 

However, I'd imagine Reginald was the first to clock that something was off with Kitty. Being an expert in war and battle strategy, he knows never to underestimate the enemy. Throughout chapter five, Reginald used antagonistic language to gauge how Kitty behaves. He found Kitty to be impulsive, reactive, and ultimately a high risk. Kitty was, to Reginald, a ticking time bomb. To him, fearful of losing what remains of Kleos’ legacy, Kitty needed to be taken down before exploding. 

Robur maintained a somewhat neutral stance on Kitty. He, similarly to Reginald, recognized that something was deeply wrong with Kitty. However, Robur viewed Kitty’s instability as a trauma response. To Robur, Kitty was a young individual put through a series of unfortunate events. It’s no wonder Kitty is constantly on edge and reactive. Despite Robur understanding that Kitty isn’t ill intended, he still recognized that having an unstable individual around Cassie wasn’t worth the risk.

Azuri was wary of Kitty. She saw Kitty for what they are fundamentally: a selfish, self loathing person who wishes to be loved. As kind and caring as Kitty tried to be, their self hatred kept them from recognizing any goodness in themself. Azuri recognized that Kitty’s recklessness isn’t negligence, but purposeful. And to Azuri, that was extremely dangerous to Cassie’s well-being and the Trinity as a whole. 

So what about post chapter five? As grateful as the council was towards Kitty keeping Cassie safe, they *really* wanted Kitty to leave. 

Reginald became rather unnerved yet humbled by Kitty. Though the rules of war state that you should “know thy enemy”, Reginald decides he really didn’t want to know more. Seeing Arg’il’s corpse smeared across the Seventh Sanctum, Kitty being held together by solely their will, and getting beaten to near death by a crowbar and icicles, Reginald realized that he was “content”. Reginald maintains cordial relations with Kitty. He put himself in charge of ensuring Kitty’s remaining time in the Trinity was hospitable. 

Robur also became unsettled by Kitty, but came to respect them. Having seen the Blackrock king’s spirit manifest to assist Kitty in the council battle, Robur quickly understood why Kleos wanted Kitty to wield the Windforce. Kitty is a ceaseless force of nature. No matter what Kitty faces, they won’t stop moving. They can’t stop. And to Reginald, that is a remarkable yet horrifying trait to have. To regain Kitty’s trust, he personally searched and returned Kitty’s TV helmet.

thiss may be a VERY far stretch but could the 'other half' of kitty possibly be the Mysterious Figure? extremely far stretch ☝️BUT☝️ from what ive seen & theorized from your art the two are in some way connect, at first i dismissed this thought due to the rewrite(that bring the mysfig was originally gonna be revealed to be the player) buuuuuut seeing how kitty and mysfig see/interact with eachother that could be a possibility!!

You’re right there! They aren’t technically the same person, but parts of the same person. I haven’t fully fleshed out what aspects of their root person they each are, but I usually write Kitty as a “ceaseless force” and the Mysterious Figure as a “stagnant force”. They’re both technically not the player or the Mysterious figure, but rather “parasites” invading the roles to fulfill their own agendas.

In my friend’s AU, Kitty and the Mysterious Figure actually do reform into their root person by accident.

The mentor is Kitty and the Mysterious Figure put back together. They’re not exactly their original self, that version has been dead for years, but they are content with this version of themselves.
