He deserved that much. “I’m back because I didn’t have anywhere else to go,” she said, before slowly continuing. “About a month ago.”

Jack followed her movements, still completely baffled from seeing Bella once again. He really didn’t know if he should hug her or be mad at her for not telling him how long she’s actually been here. He decided not to do either. “What about your home? Your mom didn’t want you staying with her anymore?” He asked, practically shaking. He felt like he’d seen a ghost. “A month? Why didn’t you tell me you were back sooner?”

“You live here? When did you get back? Why are you back? I thought you said you were never coming back to Vanderwood.” He took a deep breath, trying to compose himself. “Sorry, that was too many questions at once. “When did you get back, Bella?”
