STORY TIME: Makeship Thirteen Plushie VS the UniUni delivery (All Bosses, No Damage, All Cutscenes)
Ok so uhh I had preordered the Thirteen Makeship plushie on Jan 1 this year, and she had finally shipped 2-3 weeks ago so I was excited as hell cuz uhhh that's the wife lol
The shipping updates over that time have been... spotty, even not showing locations for most hubs/centers/etc (just the country it was in). Which was strange, because the first/last two times I've ordered from Makeship years ago (both also Obey Me plushies) had normal shipping updates + arrived on time.
So then, I got the update that it was in the state right next to mines (in the US btw, bleugh,,), so naturally I got excited, especially after seeing it was on "gateway transit out"! ...Until it sat at that stage for a full week without updates.
I started wondering if it had just went thru customs duty, or if anything else's happened? It had already entered the US like a week before this so I had assumed customs had happened already? I've ordered things that had to go thru customs but, if this was the case, I never experienced something like this before ever lol
So 4 days later, it had finally updated to "Arrival scan" in the city right next to it. In my head I was going finally bro lol idk what that was, but yay Thirteen plushie soon!
.......... fast forward to yesterday and OUT OF NOWHERE it says "out for delivery"??? There was no "processed in local distribution center/post office/etc" or anything that I'm so used to seeing with shipments like USPS or FedEx (the last-mile carriers for my previous 2 Makeship plushies).
The AfterShip site/app had said out for delivery... but it was still in the state next to mine? However, the last-mile carrier package tracking had the out for delivery location set to my city?
Oh, did I mention the last-mile delivery for this Makeship plushie was from UniUni? :) Plot twist!
This whole time I was following the UniUni shit for last-mile tracking, foolishly thinking "ok so when will they give it to USPS/FedEx for the last-mile thing—"
They don't. UniUni IS the last-mile delivery. I've never had UniUni deliver my stuff before, and never heard of them before until the last-mile carrier got shown during tracking.
And I've learned that apparently their shipment/delivery experience is the worst???
Literally EVERY SINGLE MENTION of UniUni I searched, it's all been negative experiences. Lost/stolen packages, drivers placing packages in the most convenient spots to get stolen, make false re-delivery attempts only for them to keep the items in their warehouse, for packages ppl DO receive it's either after being "out for delivery" for 3-7 days or after a month of silence. On top of that, I've also learned from others that UniUni's customer service is practically nonexistent. Even this one customer review site had UniUni rated at 1/5 stars 😭
I saw a post of someone saying that UniUni was essentially a DoorDash-ified USPS/FedEx/UPs/etc.
So at this point, I just lost any amount of anticipation and I'm like at this point I don't even care if it gets stolen or stays locked in a warehouse. I can live without a Thirteen plushie, even thought I waited months & saved money for me to order her, but admittedly it sucks knowing that UniUni is a potential Makeship last-mile carrier thingie.
Like, my whole thing is: I don't mind delayed packages that ultimately arrive. But it's this aura of uncertainty, confusion, LACK OF TRUST that UniUni carries that I'm not sure I ever wanna have to deal with again.
Anyways yeah, again I'm admittedly bummed by this cuz I was really looking forward to this. I also have 2 other overseas pre-orders I bought last month that haven't received production updates yet (which is normal, so I'm hella patient for these)... thing is, now that I know UniUni exists, it's got me feeling worried cuz altogether those other 2 preorders was like,,, $180 lol,,, and what if they ship THOSE asdfghjkl
