THERE’S NO RESISTANCE given when al’zen all but DRAGS ke’itt from the main hall,and nothing but SURPRISE to be read on the galra’s face as he’s pushed to the wall,only to then be met with a hard press of his kradnia’s lips.

shock keeps golden eyes wide for some moments, though even when they close does the surprise persist. 

           it’s RARE to see his Prince react in such a way,           though ke’itt supposes the past varga itself has been strange.

what started as an off-handed compliment by some noble had turned intoa collection of guests gathered ‘round the guard, laying praise and makinginquiries towards his thoughts regarding the family he surely someday hopedto settle down with.

                  …all questions he’d been unable to answer -                  it wasn’t as if he could tell them he already                  made a mate of the prince.

their attention had been no more than BOTHERSOME, easily dodged as mosthad reached staggering levels of intoxication before approaching him,AND YET AL’ZEN had noticed his guard’s situation and deemed it necessaryto stage a rescue. gratitude had been on the edge of his tongue, but ke’itt wasgiven no chance to share it before he’d been pulled from the party.

                    —AND HERE NOW THEY STAND,                       his kradnia laying claim with words and kisses                       as ke’itt lifts his hands to catch al’zen’s cheeks                       between his large palms.

it’s almost physically painful to bring the affection to an end,but the galra uses his grasp to keep al’zen held at a ( small ) distance.beneath arched brow there’s ASTONISHMENT in his gaze,laced with no small amount of AMUSEMENT.

For a moment there Keith considers REFUSING--- his efforts on the training deck are beginning to show real progress, and given a little more time he’s certain he could make a break-through------

       but the hand on his shoulder is more of a WEIGHT than anything else.        What might be intended as a comforting touch is instead read as        a deterrent. But Keith allows Shiro’s palm to hold him back,        understanding his friend is only looking out for him.

...though he does nothing to hold back his SIGH--- keith may never go against Shiro in such cases, but that doesn’t mean he has to obey QUIETLY.

                                               AT FIRST, keith pulls a FACE.

though it can be said he’s grown used to such gentle touch,his instinctual reactions tend to lean towards straight-up GRIMACING.

                                             …he’s getting better about it. sort of.

so many times have hands touched him to inflict PAIN that he’salmost come to reject contact altogether, but——

he’s learning that with lance he’s ALLOWED to enjoy the touch—he’s allowed to melt into the gentle ministrations of the hands that only ever meet his skin with the intention of SOOTHING him. he’s allowed to C R A V E this—he’s allowed to TRUST this.

     but old habits & such.

                     YET HE DOES eventually relax,                     pursed lips spreading into a smile as a breath                     of a laugh escapes him ;

                                                            “ that tickles. ”

                        INJURIES never bothered Keith—                          common phrases included :

                                            it’s not as bad as it looks ;                                            it doesn’t hurt, i’m fine ;                                            & you should see the other guy.

But he never takes into account how they might bother OTHERS.Where KRIE is concerned, it seems that Keith’s afflictions affectthem to the point where they feel it necessary to DO something—

                      —something that earns a pinched expression, because gross.

THAT SAID, he doesn’t squirm away from their touch ( at least, not with any real intentions of getting away ), merely pulls a face as they swipe his jaw—it STINGS as they do, which only makes him clench his teeth.

Newt reaches out and grabs his wrist, tugging him back to the relatively safe distance. It might be a bit rough, but it’s only to prevent the boy from being hurt.

There’s a faint noise of protest as Keith is made to stop,but he allows Newt’s touch to keep him from moving further.

A twist of his neck to direct inquisitive look to the xenozoologist---tongue wets lips in preparation to ask WHY he’s been stopped, but the look on Newt’s face silences him ; the man’s eyes study the creatures ahead with such focus that Keith looks towards them too before his words make sound. 

He doesn’t have to ASK, then, to UNDERSTAND - Newt knows better than to try stopping Keith if not for good reason ; the herd may seem gentle NOW, but the tight grip on his arm advises Keith against breaching their territory.

Newt’s looking out for him with an action so SIMPLE it could go brushed off....But to someone like KEITH, who has a distinct LACK of people concernedfor his well-being, he actually concedes before an argument stirs---                        ( in most other instances, he’d shrug off the hand and walk on,                                                                      unwilling to be held back. )

THE CHALLENGE is met first with RAISED BROW—                        & followed next by lopsided grin.

                                                     “ You want a F I G H T ?”

There’s no moment wasted before Keith’s charging for his lion,catching the familiar grooves of her armor in order to climb up.It’s slow work, but he’s a small boy and she’s a giant beast—to slip and fall would mean their fight over before it’s begun.

         When finally he reaches her head, Keith slides down in order to          situate himself on her snout - she doesn’t need her optic screens         to know where he is, but he still puts himself into her ‘vision’ anyway.

                            —For a moment, at least ; in the next instant, he’s                                 flopping against her crown, arms out as though                                in efforts to HUG her face. An action coupled with                                the bloom of affection he shares through their link.

FEELINGS had always been hard for him to share, even when he had his actions as a way to convey them. His intentions often got lost along the way, buried beneath expressions that didn’t portray what he tried to get across ;but he got USED to that—used to people not UNDERSTANDING him. It turned into Keith giving up in his endeavors to MAKE people understand - if he knew what he wanted, what did the process matter if he got it in the end ?

                                                            —but RED understood.

Red shared his thoughts as though she’d always been there—she’d become a part of him so easily that he began to suspect she always HAD.With RED Keith didn’t have to explain himself. He didn’t have to struggle to EXPRESS himself. He just had to FEEL, and contrary to what the others might believe, Keith FEELS very strongly.                             He has no pretty words for her, no poetic compliments ;                                      he just has an abundance of adoration to share.
