ââââ @lmxuxi ;
donghyuck leans on the wall as he looks at all his momâs things in boxes, listening to his momâs voice in the next room as she sings to his baby brother before his afternoon nap. âi hate moving things,â donghyuck says to xuxi after heaving a sigh. âbut at least we get rewarded with pizza.â he gives xuxi a smile and sits down on the couch with a plate full of slices.Â
âdid you ever think that weâd have two moms?â he says with a mouth full. âthis place is so much nicer than my momâs crappy apartment⊠itâs gonna be so much nicer for jaejoon to be able to play outside and stuff.â he pats the spot next to him on the couch and waits for xuxi to join him. âare we brothers now?â he says with a smirk.Â
setting down another of the heavy boxes in the living room xuxi straightens up and heaves a tired sigh. itâs exciting, sora and jaejoon moving in with his mum. when his mum and donghyuckâs began dating a year ago itâd initially been a surprise, of course, since xuxi hadnât even known his mum wasnât straight. heâd been happy for her though, of course, and excited for the prospect of potentially having siblings. itâd been weird though, what with his and donghyuckâs dubious relationship. things have improved a lot since then between them, and he doesnât hesitate to tell people he has two brothers now (he doesnât include donghyuckâs other siblings because heâs not met them and itâd feel weird).Â
âi like the unpacking part. itâs fun seeing where all your things can fit in a new place.â he replies, following donghyuck to the couch and collapsing beside him with a huff. grabbing a slice from the plate he takes a large bite and closes his eyes with a happy hum.Â
he doesnât reply until heâs swallowed (he has manners, contrary to popular belief). âno, but then i never really thought about it.â he smiles at the praise of the house. xuxi realises he was lucky to have had such a nice place to live in since moving to seoul, partially thanks to his skating money. âyeah, i loved this place. i still do, obviously, but i like my apartment too now.â taking another bite, this time smaller, he glances around at all the boxes and wonders what itâll be like coming over for dinner now, with sora and jaejoon joining family dinners permanently.Â
âi... like to think so.â his voice sounds smaller, uncertainty lacing his words. heâs been so happy to feel like he finally has siblings, but he hadnât thought about what donghyuck felt about the situation. âyou donât mind me being your brother?â

lmsichengâ:
A starter for @lmxuxi
The air is chill, but in a uniquely pleasant way; invigorating more than it is bone-chilling, even as Sicheng can see plumes of his boyfriendâs breath swirl in his periphery. A skip in his step, he tightens the weave of their fingers, their hands tucked together into the pocket of Sichengâs coat, and tries his best to take in the beauty of their surroundings.Â
The onset of the autumnal season is so much more evident here than it is in Seoul, the sidewalks lined with fallen leaves, each one its own unique hue of orange-red, and the sky is a pale grey, rich with the crispness of sea air. Itâs the sort of place Sicheng didnât know he missed until he was there, and to be here, with Xuxi, hours away from his obligations, it has yet to settle, and still has a feeling of unreality about it, like heâs bound to wake up from it and find it was a dream âalthough anymore, most of his dreams are filled with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and displeased trainers, and are nowhere near so pleasant.
They pass by a restaurant, the scent wafting from it unbelievably tempting, and he watches their reflections pass by in the window, in their matching coats, smiling softly to himself.Â
âLetâs get something to eatâŠâ he says pulling forward a bit so he could spin round and face Xuxi, and although he knows theyâve just come from a cafe, where theyâd shared cheesecake, and imbibed sugary lattes, heâs starving, and heâs not on Blackoutâs clock right now, so to Hell with dietary considerations, âBefore we go back, I want some real foodâŠâ
a year. a whole year since theyâd begun dating. a whole year of happiness. xuxi had been thinking about what to do to celebrate, and a trip away, out of seoul, away from any possible prying eyes that could get sicheng in trouble, seemed like the best thing. itâs hard to spend time together when sichengâs out at training every day, and xuxiâs building up his modelling portfolio, taking on more and more jobs, trying to get his name back out there, as a model this time, rather than a figure skater.Â
but they make it work.Â
the seaside location they venture out to is quiet, serene, and beautiful. xuxi wishes they could stay there for an entire week. but, alas, they both have jobs to go back to, and xuxi doesnât want to burden his mother with yunzi for too long, what with the chaos of sora and jaejoon moving in. instead of wishing for impossibilities, though, as heâd spent a lot of the summer of this year doing, he decides to enjoy the here and now.Â
his grip tightens on sichengâs hand, thumb rubbing over the back of it.Â
right on cue, xuxiâs tummy gives a little grumble - of course, the big boy wasnât full yet, far from it in fact, so he breaks into a grin and gives an enthusiastic nod. âit smells so good...â his eyes lock onto the windows, and his feet instinctively carry him towards the door. âthereâs no managers to tell you off here, so i intend to fatten you up.â thereâs slight humour in his voice, although heâs being somewhat truthful. he worries about sicheng and whatever diets blackout put him on - he doesnât need to diet, heâs perfect as he is.Â
âyour wish is my command.â pushing the door open, he pulls his hand reluctantly from sichengâs pocket and gestures with it for sicheng to go ahead of him, the warmth from inside seeping out to envelope him in a hug.Â
more important.
lmsichengâ:
Sicheng stands in front of the mirror, silently considering himselfâpulling faces, sucking his cheeks in to diminish his jowls a bit; heâs never been particularly self-conscious about his appearance, but today was woefully important, and he could never trust Xuxi to tell him if something was off.
He sighs, trying his best to let go of his concern, running his hands over his face to clasp at his hair in a show of grief, like some Renaissance statue, almost relieved to feel skin beneath his fingertips, as heâd stared at himself long enough that his face had begun to feel unreal; everything about the dayâs itinerary felt unreal, and it didnât help that he was worn from his schedulesâhe still expected that he might awaken at some point to find that this whole entire thing had been some subconscious exercise in absurdism.
They were preparing to leave so that they could meet Xuxiâs semi-estranged father, and his stepmother, for dinner at some pleasantly plush restaurant; Xuxiâs father, a man whom heâd never met before, and who did not know that Xuxi was in a relationship with a boy, or liked them, even. The cocktail that bubbled in Sichengâs gut was a confusing one: two parts self-disgust to one part wanting to be there for Xuxi, with a jigger or two of standard-issue social anxiety just to top it off. Shaken, not stirred, judging by the nauseated twist in his gut.Â
Itâs impossible that Xuxiâs father will be happyâthat he knowsâand he still thinks this whole thing is a bad idea; ideally, Xuxi would go to this dinner alone, or preferably with his mother, and reconcile with his father easily and surely, and Sicheng would remain a secret, tucked away quietly where he belonged. Only he still recalls the look on his boyfriendâs face when heâd suggested as much, so he doesnât dare speak this opinion again.
He keeps telling himself that itâs just because he doesnât want Xuxi hurtâheâs certain that he will beâif his father doesnât take well to this abrupt severing of his bloodline. But Xuxiâs so sweetly, and so blindly, optimistic; he hopes for the best, and dives in head first, and Sichengâs seen this bruise him more than once. He hates that things couldnât just be normal, that he couldnât be enough. And he hates that that isnât the only thing that bothers him about this scenario, that thereâs a part of him that wants to remain a secret; thereâs no turning back from how unmistakably, and irrevocably real this becomes after this. Â
He doesnât think heâs ready to be known like this, to exist outside of the capsule world heâd constructed here, but he doesnât think heâll ever be ready, and if thereâs anyone worth popping the bubble for, itâs Xuxi.Â
Right?
The uncertainty he feels in the depths of his mind make him feel like heâs failing his boyfriend.Â
He watches the doe-eyed boy, long like a beanpole, in the mirror as he pulls his shirt on, and Xuxi catches him, and smiles, although itâs an unusually reserved smile, which prompts a pang of guilt in Sicheng, especially when he asks how heâs doing.
âIâm scaredâŠâ he admits quietly, almost a whisper, and he turns towards his boyfriend, walking to sit on the edge of their bed, close to him, trying to control the shaking of his hands, which were ice cold with fear, âIâm justâŠâ his voice falters for a moment as tears form in his eyes, and he blinks them away, angry at themâhe hated crying, âI want this to go well, and IâŠI donât see how it can.â
xuxi knows that sichengâs nervous, that heâs concerned for xuxiâs relationship with his father, and how heâs meant to be trying to fix it. but, xuxi knows that lying to his dad, and pretending heâs someone heâs not just so they can become close again isnât going to help in the long run. heâd much rather get it all out in the open to begin with so he can see whether he should even bother trying to mend their relationship.Â
if his father doesnât accept his relationship with sicheng then xuxi doesnât have to bother with seeing him ever again. heâd done fine without him in his life for years, so why worry about losing him now, over something far more important to xuxi. family, people keep telling him, is important, and he should want to mend things with his dad, to be a part of his life, and his dad be a part of his, but how can he bring his dad into his life without telling him about sicheng, when sicheng is such a large part of it.Â
his heart aches a little when sicheng admits his fear, knowing that by asking him to come to the dinner, xuxi was asking a lot of him. this was a big step for them both, and although xuxi was very set in his decision to open up to his father about sicheng, he knew sicheng cared about the status of his mending relationship with his father.Â
âwe donât... know that for certain.â he tries to reassure sicheng, though part of him knows heâs trying to reassure himself at the same time. taking sichengâs hand he sighs. âitâs going to be fine. if it... doesnât go well it isnât the end of the world, and iâd honestly rather know sooner rather than later, when itâll hurt more.âÂ
if he forms a good relationship with his dad, and then later finds out he doesnât approve of xuxiâs love, then itâll hurt more to watch the relationship crash and burn again. if it all goes wrong now, he wonât lose as much of himself to the falling apart of the relationship. âi donât want you to worry about this, it isnât your problem to worry about, baby.â heâs been trying to tell sicheng he doesnât need to think about if it goes well or not, that he wonât lose anything if it goes badly, but of course sicheng cares too much about xuxiâs well being.Â
leaning his head on sichengâs shoulder he sighs. âi love you, and thatâs all that matters. if he canât accept that, then i canât accept him in my life. itâs that simple.â
caramel apples.
starter for @lmlele !
caramel apples are a bad idea, xuxi reminds himself far too late, when his fingers are covered in the sticky substance, and heâs got it all over his cheeks. with a sigh, his stick now free from its appley prison, which now resides in his stomach, he throws the stick in the bin nearby, and takes a napkin from a nearby stall, trying to wipe up his hands and cheeks.Â
but, as he does so, he spots a familiar face - chenle, a somewhat scary young lad that xuxi met a while back, but still hasnât figured out. heâs a wild one, and xuxiâs still learning how to understand him. still, a fellow chinese boy makes xuxi feel more at home.Â
âlele!â xuxi calls out, heading over to him, âdo you like my costume?: he asks, gesturing to his batman getup.

haunting.
starter for @lmdejun !
sometimes xuxi wishes he and dejun spent more time together. he forgot for a while, when they were living in different countries, how much he enjoyed spending time with his cousin. itâs a little hard to believe they come from the same blood line when xuxiâs a skyscraper and dejunâs a hobbit, but they have good looks in common, at least.Â
but, when the halloween festivities began xuxi saw a wonderful opportunity for cousin bonding time in the form of the haunted house. what better way than to bond with family than to get scared poopless together? heâs standing by a candy stall, pumpkin spice latte cupped between his hands, his batman costume hugging his figure and his cape all he has to keep him somewhat warm in the chilly night air. his eyes scour the crowd around him until he spots dejun, and breaks into a smile.
âdejun gege!â
more important.
starter for @lmsicheng !
itâs been about a week since his dad called, asking if he could come and see xuxi. itâs been a week since xuxi said yes, and two days since he booked the table at the restaurant for dinner. heâd hesitated before asking sicheng to join them for dinner, knowing heâd be worried about it. xuxi hadnât yet told his dad about sicheng, or even that he likes boys, so tonight was going to be a surprise, though a good or bad one, xuxi wasnât yet sure.
his fingers fumble with the buttons on his shirt as he stands by the end of his and sichengâs bed, eyes flitting over to sicheng every few minutes, because he knows heâs nervous. heâd tried to talk xuxi out of inviting him, tried to suggest he just go with his mum, or on his own, but xuxi needed to tell his dad, needed his dad to meet the most important person in his life besides his own mum. sicheng, xuxi knows, is going to be in his life forever, or at least, if things go the way he wants them too, he will.
he needs his dad to meet sicheng soon, and if he doesnât accept their relationship, then xuxi wonât hesitate to cut him out of his life again, just like he did when his parents divorced and his dad remarried. it might sound ridiculous to people who value âreal familyâ over partners or friends, but sicheng is more important to xuxi right now than a man who heâs spent so many years trying to move on from hating.
many times his mum had tried to tell him that his dad hadnât broken her heart, and that the divorce was mutual - that she was the one who suggested they get the divorce, so his dad could marry the woman he really loved. but, xuxi couldnât hear any of it, not until after his accident, when he awoke to his father with red, puffy eyes from crying, sat right beside his bed looking like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders.
it was pretty obvious then that even if xuxi was holding his dad at arms length from his life, he was still a massive part of his dads, still occupying a place in his heart. his anger cracked, his resentment melted a little that day, and he allowed his dad back into his life, little by little. though theyâre still on uneven ground with their relationship, every few months his dad comes to visit with his wife, xuxiâs stepmother, whoâs never been anything but kind to him, and they mend their relationship a little more each time.
this time, though, heâs not sure what to expect. will his dad accept him, and the love of his life, or will this put an end to a year of trying to mend things.
âhow are you feeling?â xuxi asks softly, eyes on sicheng.Â
