𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕

Emily giggled at the look on Lindsey’s face when she took Pookie away, she was pretty sure she made him pissed off as well as he chose to lean his head on Lindsey’s shoulder. Aside from Stephen she was pretty lucky to have a warm and loving thing in her life, something she could never take for granted. She shook her head at Lindsey giving in, she leaned her head on her best friends shoulder for a few short moments. “You know I am just looking out for you because I love you right?” She questioned softly as she lifted her head up to plant a kiss on the brunettes temple. She smirked almost downing the bottle, she knew once the alcohol would hit her they could really get into some deep yarns. She waited for a bit till the marshmallow in her hands was lightly brown before she opened her mouth to take a bite. She licked her lips laying another one over the firepit before taking a Graham cracker and some chocolate out of the bag. Emily gave her friend a sympathetic look hearing her troubles. She hated seeing her best friend stressed about a new relationship, but then again she hadn’t seen Lindsey this serious about someone in a while. So that only told her how much Lindsey really did love Caity. “There’s nothing wrong with being attached to someone Linds, it only just shows how important they are to you. If she doesn’t like you back, I will kick some sense into her. But don’t let that woman stop you from showing your true feelings if she doesn’t feel the same way. The best thing in a relationship is honesty and that’s what you deserve” Emily let out watching the fire cackle. Emily breathed in for a moment “we can relate on feeling something so strong for someone because I feel that way about Stephen, and it’s so dumb because it’s this early in our relationship. I guess it scares me too… I am afraid of digging myself a hole so deep I may fall in it… Does that make any sense?”

Caity laughed softly. Of course she wasn’t going to spill to Em that Linds had helped orchestrate stealing her dog but it was funny. “We should. I don’t think she’d mind. Maybe we could get Mel and Katie too? That way she wouldn’t feel so left out? Just have a big sleepover, you can sleep in my bed.” She sent a wink to her girlfriend. “Sounds like we do.” Cait bit her lip.

“Hey… I don’t ever want you to feel scared to tell me anything okay?” It hurt a little to hear that Linds was afraid to tell her how she really felt, no matter Caity’s own feelings, she wanted her girlfriend to tell her anything. “You wouldn’t scare me off, I promise. I might… need time, but you won’t scare me away.” She beamed when Lindsey said she loved her too. Emily had been right, they were a good match and Cait couldn’t believe she’d gotten so lucky. Caity ran her fingers through Lindsey’s hair, accepting the kiss with a smile. “I do. God I do mean it.” she murmured. “I love you so much and it feels so good to be able to say it. You make my life so much better. I can’t believe you agreed to go out with me and be my girlfriend. I think it was the best decision you’ve ever made.” she winked.

The look on Emily’s face when she found out Pookie had gone missing was pretty darn hilarious, but Lindsey of course had to play the best friend card and support her, instead of filming it. “That sounds like a perfect idea! Therefore if we get too lovey dovey then she can go to Katie and Melissa. I would sleep in your bed right beside you, sleepover or not” Lindsey teased. 

“I’m so telling her it was you when we get home if she hasn’t already conned it out of Kate by that time.” Caity laughed, pulling Lindsey closer to her. “Oh trust me, she might pretend she’s mad but two days max before she’s texting you begging to hang out cause she misses you. I know her, she can’t stay away.” The blonde gave a wink as she sat down, waiting for Linds to order her drink before she continued to speak. “Yeah I talked to Candice a little and she pretty much said the same thing.” Cait laughed softly. 

Looking at their joined hands, she bit her lip. “I love you. I have… practically since we met and I know I said I wanted to take things slow, I still do, but you deserve to know that you’re loved.” she spoke softly before looking at Lindsey. “I’m sorry it took me so long, well… not really long in the grand scheme of things but you know what I mean. And I’m not just saying it cause it’s Valentine’s Day. I’m saying it because it’s about damn time I do and I’ve wanted to say it for weeks now.”

“Noo you can’t do that, I like my friendship with her and I will lose it” Lindsey said rolling her eyes playfully at her girlfriend as she followed her pull wrapping her arms around her. “You, her and I should totally have a night together. Well maybe she might feel like a third wheel but I know she both loves us so much that she won’t mind” Lindsey exclaimed shaking her head. She pulled her own chair in before resting herself down on the table. “Looks like we both have our girls steering us in the right direction” the brunette said letting out a soft laugh.

Linds, you are the most gorgeous, generous, wonderful, amazing woman I’ve ever met. I’m not good at all this sappy stuff really but I just wanted to say I’m so glad you chose me. I thought that I’d never have a love like this (yes, I said love) but here you are. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I hope one day I can show you just how much you mean to me, just how much joy you bring to my life and just how much I want forever with you. Here’s to us baby, but most importantly, here’s to you and a hundred more cheesy Valentine’s day cards for me to write. 

Emily was indeed lucky to have Lindsey in her life, the two had a very awesome friendship where they were partners in crime. She also couldn’t go a day without thinking about what Lindsey would say to many of her actions in her life. She always needed some words of advice from Lindsey and now more than ever with her current relationship with the man she was falling for. She knew Lindsey was the only one who could understand or at least the only one she could trust enough to tell her everything she was feeling. She was thankful how natural their friendship formed. 

Emily giggled at her dog’s subtly before lifting Pookie off of Lindsey so she wouldn’t get anymore smothered. She was so lucky to have bought Pookie as a Christmas present herself, her home seemed a lot less lonely in her home in the burbs. She rolled her eyes playfully at her best friend “look I am allowed to worry, I know you can kickass but you never know the situation ok? Let me be worried, especially since you don’t have Caity or I in town” she said with a shrug. She took a sip of her lagar feeling in the nice taste of her favorite drink. She gave the brunette a soft nudge in thanks for the great night they were going to have ahead of them. She took one of the marshmallows out of the bag, as she pulled it through one of the sticks she leaned it over the firepit. She leaned her head on her hand directing her eyes towards Lindsey as she spoke, she gave her a small sympathetic smile. “I know what it’s like to fall for someone yes, but I normally compromise at the speed of our relationship. I am guessing you have fallen for Caity and now you’re scared to lose her? Lindsey… Just tell her, the worst she could say is she doesn’t feel the same way. And that’s okay because then you do know where your relationship is headed.”
