I use Paint Tool SAI for my entire drawing/ painting- process and Photoshop for minor edits and color adjustments.

The tools I use vary depending on what look I’m aiming for.When I’m going for soft blended colors I usually use the pen- tool.

When I want a more rough and “painterly” look I work with the brush- tool and only use the pen for small details and soft highlights

And for backgrounds I usually use a combination of the marker and pen tool.

Besides those three I occasionally use the watercolor tool to blend larger areas or to add more vibrant colors with the overlay function.But that’s pretty much it.
