🙈 “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.” 🙈 I’m not a professional model, so posing and posting this picture comes with feelings of uneasiness for me. (I usually prefer to highlight the aspects and lines of the body rather than face 🙈) But when I look at these pics from the @kiragraceyoga Fall Collection photo shoot, I realize that years have gone into creating the women that we are and there is no shame in that. Years as athletes and being called “Tom-boys” (I know I’m not ALONE in that one), years of repressed feminine energy as a pilot in a male dominated military world, years of being teased for wearing makeup (hence the “RODEO CLOWN” callsign), years of failure and self-doubt while I transitioned from my military lifestyle into a soul-path as a struggling yoga teacher with my Yoga+Travel company @walkabout_yoga_retreats , years of early morning practices, years of scribbling stick-figures and sequences into journals, years of evenings dedicated to students and eventual creation my own Teacher Training, years of study, soaking in, and smothering myself in reclaiming my creativity and intuition, years of pouring my heart into this - often rough path - of embracing ALL aspects of the self, both the grit and grime and the light, the masculine & the feminine, ...and then one day... invited to be a part of a #womanowned business that empowers the aspects of the #feminine reclaiming #strength and #elegance as one. I am reminded when I look at these photos to embrace the soft and sexy - and the journey that has turned me into that girl sitting in that chair. It may just *look* like a fashion photo, but that girl staring back at me carries years of life’s self-doubt before she was able to embrace the luxury of being a #goddess.
