radical feminists are fighting with mainstream science over whether men are biologically prone to violence
ignoring biologically driven male violence is like saying the earth was made in six days by my imaginary friend, God.
you have to be wrong about MANY MANY THINGS to even arrive at that point
don't be a "girl's girl"
be pro science
and the science says men wouldn't change if they could.
>"the science says" >doesn't cite the science Evergreen. Blaming men's actions on their biology ultimately doesn't hold them accountable because it treats it as an inevitability when it isn't and shouldn't be. Literally just "boys will be boys" in a woke accent. We need to shame people for their shitty actions, not chalk it up to their biology.
Trying to distance yourself from the alt-right while simultaneously spouting a repackaged version of the Bowl of Skittles analogy will never cease to be hilarious.
Just because I say that there's an evolutionary component in the explanation for male-specific violence doesn't mean I'm letting men off the hook or saying they're not accountable or saying that every man ever is literally Ted Bundy.
There's a biological component in the obesity crisis. People evolved to seek out fatty, sugary foods. Me saying that doesn't mean I'm also saying that obese people aren't responsible for working with their drives and taking care of themselves, or that all people in modern civilizations will be obese because of the abundance of sugary and fatty foods. Our drives are still our responsibility, and natural ≠ good or inevitable for every individual.
I have this post about a genetic component in rapey behavior. This post talks about why a disproportionate amount of rape victims are young women. This post talks about the similarities of human war crimes and chimpanzee (our closest living relatives) "war crimes" (ethic cleansing, wartime rape). This post further talks about the evolutionary connection between warfare and rape. I cite all my sources, and the absolute majority of them are published studies.
In general, you should now have 15+ scientific sources talking about an evolutionary component of a lot of what feminists call women's issues. If you want more (including entire books), I'll be happy to provide. Please, do not let your understandable wish for a better world create a massive blindspot.
Thanks for doing the work that lesbian-seperatist didn't.
I will admit that I am immediately suspicious of someone trying to blame crime/intelligence on genetics or biology, as those claims are usually used in an attempt to justify bigotry (Phrenology, for example). After some thought, I think what I was really suspicious of was people who throw out one factor (either environment or biology) to make their point. (Which seemed to be what lesbian-seperatist was doing in their last sentence, and what the twitter OP was probably in opposition to). I'll have to do some more reading to fully form my opinion, but it's heartening to see that the primary reason is still environmental factors that we as a society can influence.
