The transition between Elevator Going Up and Andromeda. Like that shits unreal and you wouldn't notice it unless you were paying attention and listening to the album in order.

But like, it's an elevator, so it's gonna *ding!* when you get to your floor. So liddolmy thinks that Humanz takes place on a multiple floor building, like its a nightclub.

(OR, alternatively, each track is a different floor. But I'm not too sure about this considering you'd hear the dings in all the tracks.)

Andromeda is about a nightclub called the same, so the Elevator is Going Up to Andromeda, hence why you'd hear the dings in the beginning of Andromeda.

ALSO!!!! The penthouse!!! The penthouse has the dings in it too, just before the narrator says "Something was gonna happen tonight." The interlude is followed by Sex Murder Party, which is (in theory) about the Pulse Nightclub incident. So the "Something" that was gonna happen that night was the incident. The same elevator was taking you to that nightclub.

Humanz is one of the smartest albums I've ever heard.

ive noticed that there's ALWAYS an argument over whether gorillaz albums are in the perspective of the members or damon's. however, in the now now, damon explicitly said that this album was in 2d's perspective. which explains the whole freemurdoc campaign at the time. it also explains why 2d seemingly had an attitude change whilst murdoc was gone. so my theory is that he wasn't "happier," he only wanted to seem like he was. he wanted to seem like he was better off without murdoc, despite actually being a wreck. hence, why nearly all the tracks off the now now are solemn and are [seen as] about murdoc. 2d's and murdoc's relationship changed obviously over the course of humanz, and they weren't so hostile towards each other. even during the facebook chats with murdoc, he said that he hopes 2d can forgive him for all the stuff he's done. but as we've seen, 2d's always had a dim admiration for murdoc.

i know the now now was three years ago but this is something thats been on my mind since it came out. also i wasn't able to write about it until recently 😞‼️
