Livio the Double Fang

Livio is astonished and delighted some of the kids still recognize him!

After spending a couple of years traveling around No Man’s Land and piecing together his fragmented self, Livio and Razlo are now one fluid person. He responds to either name because they are both his, but he defaults to Livio.

He remembers everything. All the good and all the bad.

To emulate Vash, Livio made a vow of non-killing (but not of non-violence!). He lives in December and helps out at the Orphanage, but sometimes still ventures out to wrestle sandworms or round up wrongdoers for fun. He’s friendly to strangers until they provoke him, wherein he can get nasty. But overall he strives to be patient.

Livio seeks to do sevenfold good for all the wrong he caused, so you could say his alignment is Chaotic Good :)

OOC: HOLY FUCK I finally managed to enter this account again. I’d actually forgotten the password and the email linked to this account got lost when I graduated college (rip) so I thought this blog was gone forever. But I managed to wiggle my way back on!! Yay!

It’s been years but Livio is still super important to me. I don’t think this blog will ever be a full-fledged RP blog ever again (I’m coursing through my third year in medical school and have even less time than before), but I wouldn’t mind popping in to answer a few questions.

For now, I’m glad to be back!

“Mm… Mister Vash is an extremely important person to me. He taught me the power of forgiveness. I was his enemy. I killed his best friend. But still he held his hand out for me in peace. With no reason beyond an unconditional love of humanity, he chose to trust me.”

“…To be honest, for a long time I wanted him to be a replacement for Master C. Someone who told me what to do. Someone who inspired great faith in me. But…I now know that is not what love is.”

“You know…I think I could have been his replacement for Nico-nii, too. I think I would have done it, if he had only asked it of me. But Mister Vash instead taught me to be my own person. I will not forget that.”

“When I was lost, he taught me methods to cope with self-hatred. To this day I meditate every morning because he taught me to.”

“Razzle Dazzle?”

Livio has no idea what that means.

He abruptly rips off his shirt and his body immediately starts to glisten. He strikes a sexy pose.

“Y’mean like this?”

A few meters away, Jasmine sweatdrops. The children cheer.

She throws a shoe at his head. “Livio!! Stop admiring your stupid hot body and finish your chores!”

The answer is immediate. “Sandworms!”

“Me and them used to be enemies, yanno. When I was a shit for the Eye of Michael, I hunted ‘em for sport. They’re tough motherfuckers, great for survival trainin’.”

Despite the cruelty of those times, they were some of the best of his life. He’s chosen to remember them fondly.

“Nowadays, me an’ sandworms get along much better. I took a vow of non-killin’ (but not of non-violence!). Every morning after meditation, I run outside and greet the ones that roam a few iles from the orphanage.”

Livio beams.

“Mmm.... You know, there was a time in my life when I would have given anything to be able to do that.”

Livio smiles placidly.

“That’s not the case anymore.”

“I learned...a lot. I understand myself a lot better now.”

He’d travelled the wastelands, wandered towns, kept to his vow of not taking a single life in an effort to emulate Mister Vash. It had been hard. He’d remembered many things Razlo had kept safe for him. He’d remembered so much he doesn’t know where Razlo begins or where he ends, now.

Having found some peace of mind among the chaos of his inner life, Livio had finally allowed himself to truly see and come to respect the strength of this planet’s people. Despite all of the losses they had suffered at Knives’ hands, they had already made good progress rebuilding and starting anew.

When he was young, he’d thought them cockroaches. Wretched, vile things, surviving when they were unwanted. But now he sees them for what they are: human. Desperate, starving, but somehow still full of hope. Still capable of goodness.

He thinks he might’ve thought of himself as a cockroach too. But now...

“Thank you, Elendira!”

When he finally went back home to December, Jasmine immediately grabbed the electric razor.

“What’s with the rocker haircut?!” Jasmine demanded with exasperation as she buzzed the whole thing off. She’d never witnessed Livio’s now-labeled ‘rocker’ phase, and this felt extremely out of character.

Livio grinned good-naturedly. “I just didn’t have time to cut it, is all.”
