You snapped at the Squip, obviously annoyed at his previous actions. “Bucko? That’s not the best you can do, (Y/N), and we both know it” the Squip teased you simply to piss you off more. You growled under your breath “shut the fuck up and listen to me!”
“Go on,” he replied accordingly. You couldn’t help but scowl at him. Your glare was as hard as stone, and your eyes were locked on his. The Squip could feel your anger seething through you. Maybe he had gone to far this time? Yet, he was enjoying seeing you like this. A pissed off (Y/N) was always an amusing (Y/N).
“I’m so sick of you controlling my fucking life! I got you so that you could help me with work and school, which you do, and I’m thankful. Yet, I’m so fucking sick of you meddling with my personal life! I’m going out with that guy whether you like it or not, so fuck off!” you practically shouted at him. Your neighbors must be so annoyed. All of your neighbors thought you lived alone, so they also must be very confused. You silently reminded yourself to apologize later and maybe bake them something.
“Okay, I’ll remind you to bake them something,” the Squip teased again. He was just overjoyed by the fact that he could read your mind at this point. That was it, you were done, and you finally snapped at him. “I’M BEING SERIOUS YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT! MEDDLE IN MY LIFE ONE MORE TIME, AND I WILL CHUG AN ENTIRE CASE OF RED MTN DEW, GOT IT?” you threatened. The Squip finally realized maybe he had gone too far, and he nodded silently.
Later in the day, however, you were wallowing in regret. Your date had gone terribly, and the Squip was nowhere to be found. “Squip!” you kept calling out loud to nobody. So, he was giving you the silent treatment. You let out a loud sigh and kicked off your shoes before sulking into your apartment and practically throwing yourself onto the couch.
You didn’t even bother to change or anything. You couldn’t care less about anything at this point, you just wanted to rest. “I suppose your date didn’t go so well?” you heard the Squip’s familiar voice pipe up from somewhere in the room. You began to glance around, but nope, no sign of him anywhere. Your immediate guess was that he was just speaking in your head. You let out a sigh, frowning sadly. “Yep.”
"Go ahead, say I told you so,“ you replied quietly. You were a little more than surprised when you didn’t hear it. You were even more surprised when you saw the Squip suddenly appear beside the couch. He let out a small sigh, grabbing the blanket that was so neatly resting by the couch before unfolding it and calmly throwing it over you.
A small smile crept it’s way onto your face as you stared up at him. "What am I going to do with you?” Squip asked, bending down beside you. You gave a slight shrug in response. You didn’t even want to move. This was the third date that had failed this year.
“You’ll find someone eventually, (Y/N), I promise” he reassured in his usual calming voice. It did help you feel slightly better, but at the same time, this was your Squip. He was designed to say shit like this. “I’ll have you know, (L/N), I am being completely serious. This isn’t Squip talk-” he said as an answer to your thoughts. This guy barely had any shame when it came to reading your mind.
The Squip carefully pushed himself up before sitting on the couch next to you, staring off at the wall. You both had run out of things to talk about. This happened a lot, surprisingly. Yet, neither of you usually cared. You just sat there enjoying each other’s company.
You shifted nicely so that you could lay your head on the Squip’s lap. You let out a satisfied sigh, nuzzling your head comfortably onto his leg. “Thanks,” you let out, much to your dismay. For once you wanted to be right. “It’s what I’m here for” he replied quietly before pressing a quick peck to your forehead. The light blush on your face wasn’t hard to miss, so obviously, he noticed it. The happy grin that spread across his face was enough to fool anyone into thinking he was usually like this. Maybe he was right, maybe you would find somebody,
And maybe they were closer than you thought.
