The day I met you I stopped taking my anti-depressants I felt the serotonin explode like fireworks from my prefrontal cortex I let my palms feel the sparks It was the first time in months I had felt anything It is three summers later I’m searching for fireworks at the bottom of pill bottles Because the day you left I realised that people are not medicine And I should not have treated you as if you were.

I just want someone who won’t get annoyed when I text them six times or in all caps. Someone I can go on long drives with and can sing along to the radio with. Someone I can eat pizza with at 2am and kiss at 6pm. Someone who chooses me everyday and never thinks twice about it.
