Parks, gardens and ranger services in Liverpool.
Interested in visiting a park or parks? You can find more information by visiting this website
Allerton Towers. Impressive parkland annexing the Allerton golf course, with woodland areas to walk through, and a touch of history too. Â A small quaint spot in an area of the city chock-full of green space â â â â â
Belle Vale Park. Small park next to a main road and behind a shopping centre. Fairly plain, not a great deal to look at, some graffiti lets it down, but well maintained and mostly litter free â â â
Calderstones Park. This site has it all, with everything you could ask for. Peaceful, scenic, clean, with plenty to explore, and a good helping of history to boot. The crème de la crème of Liverpool parks. â â â â â

Canalside. The name says it all, and the canal is the only real interest here. The parkland itself is bare of any real features and needs some attention. This site has potential but is not currently worth going out of the way for. â â
Childwall Woods. Peaceful forest retreat from the city with plenty of paths to explore. Somewhere a little different â â â â
Croxteth Country Park. With the notable Croxteth Hall as the focal point, there are plenty of primary forest paths to seek out and abundant wildlife, parkland, lakes, plus the on-site park farm. Something for everyone here at this unique 500 acre space â â â â â
Devonfield Gardens. This tiny park in the far north of the city is very well kept, and whilst lacking in any standout sights, is a highlight of the local area â â â
Doric Park. Very small hidden park surrounded on all sides by terraced houses, a bit rough around the edges, vandalism and litter didnât help. â â

Everton Park. Come for the view, not for the park. Without a doubt the most spectacular view in the city, at its best at the end of a sunny day as the big yellow ball in the sky drops below the horizon. The less said about the park, the better - possibly the worst kept and most rundown in the city. â â
Falkner Square. Surrounded on all sides by Georgian houses and packed with plants and shrubs, this historic clean and tidy small space on the outskirts of the city centre is worth a visit if in the area. â â â â
Festival Gardens. On the site of the 1984 Garden Festival - and formerly âPleasure Islandâ, there are a multitude of paths and bridges across lakes to wonder around, and good views of and across the Mersey make this an enticing spot to visit. â â â â
Greenbank Park. Immaculate park, just a stones throw from Sefton Park. Walled gardens and a lake with abundant wildlife provide the backdrop to this underrated and often overlooked park. â â â â â
Larkhill Park. The attractive centrepiece lake - popular with fishermen - is the main attraction here, and provides a pretty backdrop view from all four corners of this small park in a heavily populated urban area. A real litter problem and vandalism lets the side down however â â â

Newsham Park. The lakes in this large park are up there with the best the city, and with an abundance of geese and ducks they are a delightful sight. Well maintained parkland and - but for a few blemishes - for the most part clean and tidy â â â â
Norris Green Park. Hidden gem, and a pleasant surprise, competing to be the best that north of the city has to offer. A local residents âFriends ofâ group keep this park looking spick and span, a shining example as to what can be done when locals take upkeep into their own hands. â â â â
