"I've had lots of thoughts recently, y'know?" he catches his family's hand in his "And all this stuff going on made me wonder- if we're one and I love you thiii------s much!" he opens his arms wide to stress his point.

"Then that surely means that together with you Mika, the love is extra strong! Double love for you! So you're extra loved hehe..."

"I'm always worried when you say you have lots of thoughts." Which technically because he's in his head he knew what he was thinking before it was so eloquently articulated- yet somehow that doesnt mean he can err decipher it.

"Mikaaaa." He pokes his shoulder "Mika." The poking attack continues.

"Rude, I'd go to the toilet for you even without organs. It's all about trying." that's how much he loves him, duh.

"I'm carrying the weight of the universe's fate right now, y'know? You could at least help out with the toilet part. I don't have time to run back and forth. But you're a demon now Mika, so you can just POOF yourself anywhere you want, right?""

"Oi Mika! So if you're me and I'm you- does that mean you can go to wee wee for me then?" all this food and protein shakes are getting through his body too quickly.

Perhaps words might not be his forte, but he genuinely believes in the life Mika has given him since he has met him. The only life he has ever had, really. Even a lost disgrace like him, was allowed to follow a path in which he didn't have to fight alone, where he could have someone to keep him grounded to an existence he was afraid to take a chance with by himself. Mika has always been his brightest star, even if he might not see it. He has always been the reason Yu could breath more easily, feel any kind of warmth even in the darkest of nights.

"You sound like an old man, Mika." he's still smiling as he allows his body to fully flop on the soft cold grass of the early evening. His hands rest behind his head, a breath taken to enjoy the scent of the night around them.

"They burn bright, until there's nothing left of them, but they still keep burning for others despite it all." he says as a matter of fact, admiration laced in his voice as he mumbles out loud his thoughts. "And you do the same for me, every single day since we were kids. I appreciate what you call 'supervision', y'know? Even though I'd rather call it caring for your family - Ah!" an exclamation abruptly escapes him, as if he realises he's missed something extremely important.

There's a low hum vibrating in his chest, giving a last good look at the starry sky before he addresses all of his attention to his family.

"But even if they're su---per far away-" his arms open wide as if to highlight with that gesture the massive distance he is referring to "they're still hella bright to come all the way here for us to see them, and that is pretty awesome, right?" there is only a few people whom he can grin so widely for, Mika the first one on that short list of people, in fact the only one Yu can smile that brightly for.

"And I think you're as bright as them Mika, heh. Stars are meant to guide people, right? And you're kind like... My guide. My life guide. Kinda like a light and gravity all together I guess. Basically," he points at the other "You're hella important and bright."

Even the night sky looks somehow brighter since that unnatural crimson tint has finally faded. It his perhaps the very first time he is truly paying attention to the different patterns the stars are creating above their heads.

"That constellation looks kinda like you." his index points somewhere north-east, emerald eyes glancing at Mika briefly before focusing back above his head.

Their first encounter was not the best beginning to start any kind of acquaintance: a particular dark night in Sunnydale, Yu's worn trainers were wet as he makes his way down the alley and he had no time to avoid the puddles that were still scattered on the ground after a long heavy rain from the day before.

He knew there was somebody following since before he had decided to take a quiter route, a safer path in case he had to take care of the matter. The figure had followed him through, catching his bait, perhaps hoping for the same at this point.

Even that night,, Yu had felt some kind of unsettling energy emanating from that guy: despite such elegant features, delicate like moonlight, Yu knew better than trust such a docile attitude. He caught the item thrown at him out of reflex after a small banter, and yet he finds himself wearing it even now, days after that odd first meeting.

The blond's comment has him frown further. Who the fuck is this guy? A demon? His nose is not catching any particular scent, in fact he doesn't smell bad actually. Too sweet maybe, or is just the drinks people around them?

But he's not that stupid to not realise that whoever this guy is, or whoever sent him, is there for him.

Not for Yuichiro, bur for the Slayer.

His hand raises automatically, fingers wrapping around the wrist of the young male who has just taken too much confidence for his own taste.

"And I don't like to repeat myself either: learn personal space." The other's hand is yanked away before he releases it, a last glare before Yu does the exact opposite of the person has just said.

"Nah, didn't your parents teach you to not follow strangers? I don't even know your name." if the guy has heard him, Yu doesn't even really care as he turns his back on him and starts walking away on the opposite direction. He can play this game too.

"Does my name really matter? There's something coming. Something big. And it doesn't seem like you're concerned in the slightest. Either you're the most arrogant slayer thats exsisted or the most stupid."

Yuu: None.

Mika: …Yuu-Chan, this is basic math, it’s not that har—

Yuu: I would give them all to you because I love you.

So what if we started using our inner voices to start thinking before we ask questions like this?

"Hey Mika..." it was a warm day despite it was only the beginning of spring. Even the sun seemed to have brightened up once the sky had bleed out and let the blue take its original colour.

It didn't look wrong anymore, instead his eyes could not let go of that beautiful view as if he were to look away at any point he was afraid it would disappear once again.

Freedom did not seem to be just a dream now anymore.

"If I were to die, would you remember me?" his voice was as gentle as the lazy afternoon breeze, his smile calm and warm like the rays they were bathing in. He had never feared death for himself, perhaps instead looked for it more often that he had ever admitted aloud to anyone. His comfort was to keep Mika and his family safe, even if that meant to sacrifice the whole universe to achieve that goal. That was the purpose of his pitiable existence.

He had promised him this time they would solve the map together, that he would not leave his precious family behind... However, in the darkest depths of his soul Yuichirou had always been aware that he was just a mere disposable piece of someone else's game.

But of what of his humanity was still in tact, he had Yuu, had his family. And all the love and pain he felt for him. Including when stupid questions like this would leave his lips like it was the most simple ask. What a juxtaposition; the cold unyielding hell that conjured such a statement and the warmth of his features that kept what little feeling Mika had left alive.

Yuu's suicidal ideation always took him aback slightly. It hurt him like a knife to the heart despite his knowing this wasn't a knew feeling for his family. Mika could protect Yuu from the world, he was confident in that fact, but not himself.

It took a moment for Mika to reply, cast in the shadow of the building to protect himself from the harsh sun's rays (his UV blocker protected him from the worse but it was still mildly uncomfortable to stay under it for too long).

"If you die I'll kill you." He joked with a flat tone, the uncomfortable feeling in his chest growing until he could feel it in his throat. "I don't want to live long enough to know if that's possible."

There was a silence in the grim reality of what could be. Mika hated living in what ifs and might be, but his imagination sometimes over came him. And it was quick to remind him of his failures, of how he could continue to fail, how his immortality was killing him. There is a timeline that Yuu dies and Mika is left all alone. The thought made him ill.
