When you get like really sensitive and pouty or cry easier than normal and you just really miss your caregiver and you just really want, so badly it’s all you can think about, is attention from them and to just play and be silly and color and watch cartoons and tickle fight and tackle cuddle... when it hurts like crazy when it just... for any reason really... doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen in the next twelve hours... maybe a little more...
When you get those feelings and you just feel sad and miserable and cry yourself to sleep...
Is that a little emergency?
And should you tell them? Even though you plan to do something for the day after the next? Or even though they’re extremely busy the next day? Or even then? Or just, even if it doesn’t feel or seem like the right time or a good idea to tell them?
Why does it hurt so much? I’ve never had this be a problem. Why does this have to happen?
And why do I get so jealous of my parents when they steal all his attention away? Why do I feel so sad and upset and hurt and lonely and needy when he leaves after visits where he talks to my parents a lot? Why do I care so much? Why can’t I join in the conversation and just talk with them? Why do my parents have to talk to him so freaking much for so freaking long? Why don’t I just ask to take him downstairs for a movie? What the heck is wrong with me?
