Those words still haunted you, the memory of that boy's face ripping away to reveal another behind it - grinning with a maw full of teeth, mocking your fear in such sing-song glee.
You'd scampered through the sewers, before realizing that you were probably making too much noise splashing about. So more quietly, you crept; heart pounding in your ears and your eyes stinging from the sheer strain of watching for anything, anything that might have been that creature hunting you.
You'd pulled yourself up onto a ledge of concrete, glad to be out of the foul smelling bog below. Laying on your back, you took a moment to catch your breath. A mistake to think you were truly safe, even then.
You screamed as it seemed to lunge from the darkness above, completely trapping you with arms and legs on either side before you could get up or roll away. He was so close, you could feel his costume rustling against your own clothes. Part of you wanted to look away - but another part was paralyzed as you held the gaze of bright, burning eyes.
"Duck and cover.." Pennywise gurgled with a sinister laugh, pushing himself down even more so he was practically smothering you. "It wouldn't have helped, sweet thing.. still would have found you! Still would have smelled you.."
You felt the warmth of his nose sniffing noisily along your throat, his voice becoming so low and rumbly you could feel it reverberate through you. "Still.. will.. TASTE YOU--!!"
Blood painted lips smashed against your own and for a brief moment, it was as if all your favorite tastes swirled along your tongue - immediately followed by foul, acidic backwash. You gagged into the monstrous being baring down on you, coughing and struggling to breathe as he pulled away, cackling hysterically.
"Duck and cover.. fuck and love-her..!" Pennywise chanted gleefully, his silk gloved hands cradling your face far too sweetly for what was being done and said. "Things so filthy, don't tell YOUR MOTHER~!"
Your friends never find any trace of you down there in those sewers, the belly of the beast. The only proof that you'd ever even been there at all - a smearing of blood on a concrete ledge, and a stained piece of parchment with writing, held down by a single, human finger.
Count your pennies, not your ducks,
Hide under your cover kiddos, you're fresh out of luck! Dragged under the waters, left without a boat!
They were the first - soon it'll be your turn to float.
