Update: I've been drawing since I was a little kid. I've had periods of art block and demotivation but nothing has ever made me hate drawing before. Nothing. Being told (often not even to my face) that my art looks like slop has been more crushing that I ever would have imagined. I never posted my art much in middle/high school because I was nervous. I had a private instagram for a while, but I mostly only showed my friends. I joined tumblr last year at my friends encouragement, and then later twitter for the same reason. I opened commissions because people asked if I was willing to draw for them, I opened an inprnt account because other friends wanted my prints. I'm grateful for all of their support. I think fundamentally I'm too nervous and pessimistic as a person to continue posting on twitter though. I paused taking on more commissions since I'm about to move, but I'm not certain I want to open them up again afterward. I'm likely going to deactivate my twt in the coming days, but I'll probably keep my tumblr. Though I think I'm going to stop tagging my work if I do start posting again. I ask that people no longer repost my art to other platforms, because allowing it was evidently a mistake. If my art can be easily mistaken for AI, then I'm easily replaceable with AI. Over a decade of drawing and it amounts to looking like plastic. I've always been overly critical of my own work but I can't even look at it anymore. I wish elementary school me had never picked up a pencil. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me.
