The tragedy about Peter being so lonely is that heâs alone in a way that most people have never experienced. Not only do none of his friends remember him- not just Ned and Mj, but literally every friend he ever had from high school- but any extended family, any colleagues, anyone who ever interacted with him has no memory of him. Some guy at a corner shop that he frequents will have to relearn his regular order. The upstairs neighbor that he borrowed eggs from one time has no idea who he is. Every teacher that enjoyed having him in their class, every childhood friend, every former classmate, everyone who he ever went out of his way to help has no idea he ever existed. Not only that but any non super good that he brought to the world or personal sacrifice that he made is completely undone by the spell. Peter literally has no history. He doesnât even have pictures because he was erased from them. Can you imagine years worth of stupid vlogs and videos and baby pictures and selfies with family and birthday cards or letters or emails wiped from existence? And Peter lived like that for four years in near solitude. No wonder he was suicidally depressed, even despite being the most cheerful, optimistic person in the MCU. One second you have a life and the next second itâs like you were never alive. And he felt like he had to force himself to live that way for four years. The more i think about the sadder this movie makes me.

imagine you finally work up the nerve to interact with your old BEST FRIENDS whoâve FORGOTTEN YOU EXIST and you go up to them and learn that theyâve been trying to subconsciously REACH OUT and FIND YOU for YEARS but ultimately CANT REMEMBER who you are and you see your old girlfriend who youâre still in LOVE with KISS her BOYFRIEND happily and then you go to try and KILL YOURSELF but SURVIVE and then mope back to your APARTMENT and PASS OUT and wake up wrapped in your own ORGANIC WEBS on the side of your building and you FALL and discover that youâre TURNING INTO a SPIDER happened to my good friend Peter

Tom Holland's acting is so fucking good. He's really honed his craft over the last few years. Especially his NYC accent. It was really authentic particularly when he was talking to Frank. It's like he code switched and slipped into the accent even more like one does when they meet a close friend from their native town. Like so well done.

In its right place
nothing on this god's green earth can convince me that peter parker doesn't have an ao3 account where he is elbows deep in a 'rise of skywalker' fix-it fic. like, fully invested in it, been writing it pre-spider bite with ned, who is just as enthusiastic about it. but the thing is, it's really hard to do updates when you are literally spider-man.
every three months he'll post and in the author's note there's some shit like "sorry this took a while, i got shot seven times :/" or "i know it's been a minute, i literally got hit by a bus and then stabbed in the leg, but i'm all good!" or sometimes ned would log in and post with a note "hey i'm a friend posting on the author's behalf, they're healing from severe hypothermia but promised an update, so here it is!"
and the fic just gets increasingly more popular for the author notes alone. a good handful of the comments are something along the lines of "i'm not even in the star wars fandom, i'm just here to see if the author is good" or "every update i cheer for another day the author gets to live at this point"
and any reader who is a native new yorker kind of pieces together that holy shit the author might be spider-man because the timeline adds up, and they just fully embrace it. spider-man will stop a robbery and the guy behind the counter will ask when the next chapter will be up. spider-man returns a stolen backpack to a girl and she'll tell him that he "really got poe's voice down so well, it's really impressive."
ned thinks it is hilarious. mj finds out about the fic from twitter, to peter's absolute horror, and changes peter's contact name to "friendly neighborhood ao3 author". but the worst thing to happen is after an avengers battle where peter took a pretty big hit and ends up in med-bay. and during a press conference, when someone asks how spider-man is healing, tony just drops "spidey won't be down for too long. the star wars fic will be updated within the week, probably."
ao3 goes down for two days.
This part in NPMD where Richie falls after Max âforce chokesâ him is so insane to me.
Because what Jon does is⌠he lets his legs fall out underneath him. Like he fully just collapses on himself and idk but I feel like that is very hard to do??? To purposefully fall like that?? Like itâs the opposite of what the body wants to do. Itâs very impressive to me and I canât get over it.
man. the secret history has become so synonymous with dark academia that when u look through the tag its just knit sweaters and latte art. like please show me a text post about how fucking unhinged richard was for staying in a room with a Literal hole in the wall during the dead of winter and almost dying of hypothermia.
You once saw me with a flat tire and you kept on driving.
"Tom's relationship with Patricia is a funny one because I think they're a little bit codependent. She likes having this friend, who's the mayor, and she's by his side all the time. Matthew [Rhys] and I once talked about how, God forbid, he ever forgot Patricia's birthday, his life would be over. He couldn't go to work for weeks because he [would] know she's just waiting to be furious. For him, she's someone that he can rant to. She's all ears. She'll listen. Always." -Kate OâFlynn, Den of Geek

oh my god???
this is my first Widow's Bay fanfiction! I felt like I needed to avoid everything until I'd finished the whole show, and I'm so glad, because it was amazing seeing it without spoilers. it took my fam about 2 ish weeks to finish, but I don't think I was properly hooked until episode 4 or 5. I'm obsessed with patricia.

Evan slammed his front door closed, and winced as his frustration rattled the door frame. To his left, the strip of key hooks wobbled precariously for half a minute before falling to the floor. He cursed quietly.Â
Then paused, waiting for footsteps in some corner of the house, and his dad coming to shout at him for destroying the house, but all he heard was the house settling. Thank God.Â
Something in his chest relaxed. The last thing he wanted was to talk to his dad right then. After last night, dragging him out of the car in front of Kelly and PJ, and ignoring him while he was trying to have a real conversation. Not to mention, all while, for the first time in ever, looking like a complete mess.Â
Evan cursed a little bit louder.Â
Fuck, the one time heâd decided to lose the stupid tie, which Evan always thought made him look like an asshole. He frowned, remembering his dadâs stained shirt. Did he go out drinking or something? The possibility made him angrier, that his dad was so pissed about him having a good night for once while he was off drinking with his friends. It was so unfair that Evan wanted to hit something. Better yet, ruin something his dad cared about just like heâd done to Evan.Â
He took one mindless step towards his dadâs home office, but then stopped himself. What was he gonna do, put a few papers through the shredder? Maybe ruin someone elseâs work instead. No. That was petty, even for him.Â
He sighed and settled for kicking his dadâs briefcase propped against the coffee table. Hard. It wilted over sort of sadly.Â
Evan stared at it for a minute, then shook his head.Â
Heâd figure something out later.Â
Right now, his phone was about to die. He gave the briefcase one last halfhearted kick, which sent it right into the wall, then kicked off his shoes and crossed to the staircase. It creaked loudly with each step. It made the house feel oddly still and empty in comparison. Like he was intruding on his own life.Â
When he reached the landing, he flicked on the lights, and made to fling open his bedroom door, but something made him pause. His dadâs door was still closed. Evan frowned.
When heâd snuck out early that morning it was closed from the night before. He assumed then that his dad was just still asleep. But he wouldnât still be asleep at noon, even on a Sunday. He was anal about his âmayoral dutiesâ.Â
Unless, maybe, he was hungover. There, that was something. Evan would go steal his dadâs phone charger and âaccidentallyâ wake him up. Maybe even hide the aspirin so heâd have to go into town to buy more.Â
He grasped the handle, shoved the door open, and was hit hard with the smell of vomit. He recoiled.
âEw, what the hell?â His stomach twisted uncomfortably. Trying to swallow back a gag, he fumbled to pull his t-shirt up over his mouth and nose. The door bounced off the wall and slowly drifted shut again. Evan caught it before it could close all the way and pushed it back open. âDad?â
His dadâs bed was empty.
