Thoughts and theories up to Chapter 30 of Gideon the Ninth:
I am finally keeping track of the characters.
Shout out to the excellent writing of Gideon's POV regarding the Fourth House. At first she seems to dismiss and mock the Fourth House for being teenagers, but then I realized it's a defense mechanism to keep her from acknowledging that these literal children are risking their lives.
My favorite characters thus far are Gideon and Palamades. I continue to be scared for Palamades.
Dulcinea continues to be manipulative. Also her cavalier was a zombie, which is in my opinion a red flag.
Exposure to out-of-context spoilers on Tumblr has (vaguely) spoiled me on lyctorhood, Gideon and Harrow's fate, Ianthe being an important character, and the Emperor loving memes (?) but it's honestly amazing how little I understand considering the number of spoilers I've read.
