i remembered this interview with daniel handler recently (from just after the end was first released). and like, i think of course that the way it ended up was perfect as-is, but there is something so appealing to me about the idea of them returning to olaf’s house in TPP - and under what circumstances, looking for something specific, perhaps under kit’s instruction? what does he have that anyone could want? - with a whole world of new knowledge about vfd and chef’s salads and the complexity of the world putting everything into a new perspective. it would’ve been great.

This star (specifically the red star) was a pervasive and essential symbol to Yugoslavia, which symbolized strength and resistance, most specifically against fascism and Nazi occupation.
