Overall, it was a very very solid ending! If i had to rate it i would say 7.5 or 8 out of 10
A lot of great character interactions
As always, tadc is at the top of their game when it comes to animation. There were a lot of great scenes with beautiful lighting and overall just super creative!
Most if not all the questions i had since the first episode had answers that made sense and i was satisfied with.
It was a very bittersweet ending, but tbh it was the best possible outcome. I feel like nowadays we need more "hope-core" endings and with a show like tadc, im glad it ended off on a semi happy note.
Certain dialogue bits were a bit clunky or really odd for the situation but i think i just need to rewatch the finale when it drops on youtube to reevaluate them.
I will say if you dont like jax then uhh... you might not like the finale either gulp
unrelated to the finale itself but my theater was surprisingly well behaved (it was indeed NOT stinky). It mostly consisted of grown adults and everyone was quiet save for a few hype moments towards the end

I was genuinely not expecting we would get that but that was so cool!! and the post credit scene of them all at the bus stop oh my goddddd something something they still find each other in all lifetimes
Ribbit... oh my god ribbit.... learning about her and jax's relationship was probably the best part of the finale it was giving dead wife in a movie in the best way possible
seeing jax's descent into the asshole we know him as was soooo interesting it doesn't excuse what he's done but it gives a much greater understanding of why he acts the way he does.
speaking of jax... oughhh sorry they can never make me hate you jax. the way he's internalized not knowing how someone truly feels due to inconsistent patterns of behavior and takes it out on everyone in the circus to have some semblance of control in a world where the only thing you CAN do to stay sane is to reach out to others.
i think it was fine that jax didn't come back. I was fully ready for them to pull a power of friendship group hug to bring him back but im glad they didn't. this was something he brought onto himself, and when he finally fell apart and was vulnerable, it was too late. i saw a post on here saying jax is a cautionary tale and i fully agree.
transfem jax confirmation, question?? it was very subtle and i kinda wish they really made it more obvious but the bow was still really cute
from what i understand, the other doors inside jax's mind are how he chooses to see the world vs. his real memories. pomni saying "i can fix you", zooble being overtly, comically angry and hot-headed, gangle being manic and bossy when she was manager at spudsy's, etc. feeding into the archetypes jax assigns to everyone.
this is kind of an issue that the show has had for awhile, but ragatha and pomni really needed more time together in particular. the hug was really sweet, but in the grand scheme of things the impact could be stronger had they shared more moments together
CAINEEEEE MY BOY MY SON i LOVED the entire sequence of how caine created the avatars. no dialogue, just showing and not telling (another issue that the show has sometimes when it comes to revealing stuff about characters). however his revelation and apology did kinda feel abrupt. I wanted Caine to go through a deeper process i guess? of learning why what he did was wrong since just a moment ago he was so deep in his delusion of the cast tormenting him.
overall, it was a great finale to a great show! some minor issues but still something i'm so glad i was able to see on the big screen with a friend!
