        “ a relationship is TWO PEOPLE — how the FUCK am i THIRD WHEEL?! ” she shouts — rarely does she stand up to chloe. her protests are usually silent and easy to fix, but she can’t help but get REALLY angry this time. for once, she can’t let the transgression go passively.

Unconcerned shrug is offered in response ( almost smug, considering the offense which she had committed ), hands folding over her chest as she glances at her supposed best friend. Brow arched, smirk tugging at the corner of her lips, almost daring her to get angry.

       “ GOOD GRACIOUS, ASS IS BODACIOUS!! ” is he seriously squatting by her and pointing at her ass with joined hands?? yes. this is his way of saying her outfit is good before they head out for the day. it’s a terrible method.

EYE DIVERTING FROM the female, ready to leave as soon as shit goes down, god his heart is already pounding.  ❛ ….me and Jeremy…yeah?❜ nerves tighten as she continues, “man whore” , his voice is laced with anxiety and his movements are stiff trying to find an easy way out.  ❛ uh, Chloe….you and Brooke said Jeremy d-didn’t even sleep with you…besides….starting rumors is Jenna’s job…just like i heard you tried sleeping with him but….he left you alone.❜ he’s still avoiding eye contact with her, he feels anxious and he’s ready to leave her behind and retreat to a safe space whenever he sees a route.  ❛ I was at the party…chloe…i know what happened…❜

Expert at masking emotions behind cheerful visage-- momentary flickers ( confusion, anger, annoyance, worry ) that only one well versed in the force that is Chloe Valentine would be able to catch. She won’t back down so easily, his obvious discomfort only encouraging her behavior as a soft hum echoes in the tense atmosphere, hands moving to fold over her chest. Hum is accented by a pop of her lips, brown hues flicking upwards in faux display of thought. 

“So, you and Jeremy, hm?” 

Spoken with an absent hum-- despite chipper tone, the conversation is anything but friendly. She’s a snake, her fangs bared in the form a perfectly glossed smile as manicured nails tap methodically ( rolling clip clip clip, and again ), before shrugging and tossing honey locks over her shoulder. 

“So, what is it, some kind of charity case?” 

Association through social standing -- Middle Borough’s best and Westerburg’s sheriff, a party, and in Chloe’s hand, her second cup of jungle juice. Laughter melts into the thumping of the base, rolling past glossed lips. It isn’t the bubbly laughter of friends that reverberates through Chloe, but the ugly kind, which plays in your ear when gossip girls have nothing better to do than ruin lives. 

          she’s not even shocked at chloe’s words, and maybe, that was part of the problem. “ no, chloe. he didn’t. he didn’t kiss you. because he loves me, he’s not like that. ” there’s determination in her voice as she shakes her head. of course she was already crying — she always had been so emotional. “ you’re better than me, i know, i — i know that. but i’m tired of you reminding me. ” she says, belief lining each painful word. “ he’s not a loser, chloe. i’m not letting you keep ruining these things for me. i’m not going to be lonely just because you are. ”

“He’s not like that. Jesus, do you know how pathetic you sound?” 

Bitter laugh behind words, smirk playing at glossed lips as she rolls her eyes. Something about this hurts-- something makes it hard to catch her breath, makes her want to look anywhere but at the girl she called her best friend. She scoffs in response, a moment to mask the effect the words have against her.
