Life Lessons Learned In Africa
Take a minute and look around us, travel and see what is going on in the world. There are so many things to learn. Especially from you Africa. This was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I can’t really explain it in words. Thank you Ivory Ella for giving me an opportunity to join the team to visit this motherland. It is not just an experience, it is also a life lesson. Here are a few words about the trip.
First, I want to talk about elephants and other animals in the wild that not many have a chance to see in real life. The love for the elephants and other wild animals grows in me more and more after I see and interact with them. It is just so amazing to hear the birds singing every morning and see the monkeys jumping from tree to tree in Samburu. I have never thought of having lunch with zebras and giraffes with mountains in the background, like we did in Naivasha. Everything was unimaginable. Kenya is like another planet that I have never seen before.
Thank you Save The Elephants for the first lovely lunch with the inspiring people who work there. Their love for elephants and their stories taught me so much. Everybody works toward the same goal and it was so nice to understand more about what they do to help the elephants. The ways they assist the community, build the school and help the children attend are amazing. I am so glad to meet the everyone and it reminded me how lucky I am. We all have bad days, and there are days that we complain about in our lives, but these children just keep the hope and smiles on their faces. Not only children, but some adults want to go to school and they help each other as well. It was so nice to meet women in Samburu who helps each other to study. They do not worry about age and they just try their best.
Talking about Samburu, we can’t skip the Samburu Warriors. It is amazing to hear all the stories that not many people know about and how the community is connected to the wild animals. Spending time there, I understand more about the deep culture of the Samburu people. It was really nice to walk with warriors and rangers and listen to their stories. How they try to work with the community to save the elephants and other animals was inspiring.

After all, I just want to say that I have learned so much from this trip. It was not just learning about the people and the wild animals in Africa. The trip also taught me how to be a better person and appreciate what I have. While so many amazing people live in Africa trying to make this world to be a better place, other people still do not understand that this planet needs help. Humans sometimes destroy things for their own desires. We cannot fix everything, but everyone can try their best to help to make this world a better place. We cannot change everything right away, but I told myself that I will try my best to be better. I will try to use the my visual language of art to send out messages to people. Please help to save the elephants and save this world.
