The door clicked open, a woosh sound followed after, revealing the woman in military gear, a camera turned to her, scanning her up and down with a blue lazer, before stop and a automatic voice rang through the hallway.
âCommander Rockwell, please follow the pink tiger, the Doctor is expecting youâ
The fully grown adult pink tiger in question quietly approach the commander, its paws and dull claws poke poke at her legs and turned around, signing Rockwell to follow. The woman footsteps fall into rythm behind the abnormal creature, Lindsey's creations never fails to make her feel just a tad bit unsettling, despite being there for the young doctor practically their whole life at this point.
The tiger led her through a series of rooms, and 'houses' as Lindsey called them. Some have machinaries occupying the place, producing large quantities of DNA altering chips to the masses, other have agents inside checking up or playing with the mutated animals like they are house pets. They arrive at the 'green house' as the young doctor likes to call it, and to some extent, it is correct, a controlled and lush environment that mimics the usual forest rather than a garden. From here, Rockwell can see the abundance of creatures in flocks and groups, all are mutant or fused with various other species, the air is clear and pleasant from flowers and things, mayhaps even more than the real place.
The pink creature wanders through the complex route, finally arriving the large metal door, her dark pink personal logo plastered on the white door. the pink tiger nudged her forward, then turned to walk away. Rockwell swiped her card on the identification screen, granting her access to the dimly lit lab, light source is only from the tubes with bright light pink liquid and the weirdly large amount of holo screens. In the middle of all that thereâs Lindsey, tail wagging and lightly swaying despite has no music on, in front of her are articles, DNA and viruses maps, sheâs working on something, and seem passionate about it, so it took a while to notice Rockwellâs presence.
Lindsey signed Rockwell to come to the center, pushed all of the current holographic screens away, then pulled up 7 hologram screens, all are files and âRequests access denied screens, but one thing stood out the most that all of them are about 1 person, a person whose name is another name for a rock
âMoth- I mean commander Rockwell, welcome, i called you in because iâve run into someone that you seem to knowâ
She turned back to face Rockwell as the woman approached her from behind. She pulled up a holo picture and held it in front of the military woman
âAgent Stone, now runs a popular coffee spot down the street called the Mean Bean, does that rings any bells, commander?â
Rockwell flinched a little bit before cocking her head at the sudden image. The woman expression varied from suprised, confused then neutral, Rockwell fixed the end of her sleeves and spoke
"Yes, Lindsey, unfortunally i know agent Stone, let just say we briefly cross paths before he was assigned to the...ahem, late doctor Robotnik"
Lindsey tilted her head at that, blatantly trying to gauge her motherly-figure's emotions. She notice the bite in that sentence, she haven't heard that before, but she shrugged, dissmiss it and placing it in the back of her mind, she placed the holoscreen back amongst the different colored holoscreens, zooming on certain ones, her back facing Rockwell.
"Can you tell me more about him? You seem to have a bite to that sentece despite the context of it, i've never heard this much bitter from you before"
The other woman stilled, then just sighed, Rockwell approached the young doctor, standing side by side with her, looking at her messy-ish set up, all just redacted files, access denied, and files non existant screens, and in the middle is the image the younger girl showed her earlier.
"He's suppose to be dead" Rockwel start "heâs supposed to be dead alongside Ivo in that death egg or whatever you call it, but then the situations recently happened we found out they were alive through an unfortunate string of events⌠donât make that face, you were in the lab here, you aren't taken with me for a reasonâ
Lindsey pouted, her arm crossed but stayed silent so Rockwell can continue.
âHeâs an dangerous man, Lindsey, that man with the unwavering loyalty to the 3 times dead man can commit war crimes upon war crimes just to avenge that doctor, that god damn doctor that have betrayed Walters for his selfish gains, thatâs all that i can tell you, beyond thatâŚyouâll learn it yourself somedayâ
Silence, it went on for whatâs feels like an eternity, the only sound to chip away the cracks of the atmosphere is the occasional bubbles from the massive tubes. Lindsey and Rockwell stands there, not looking at eachother as the time ticks away impatiently, both staring blankly into the onslaught of stilled holoscreens.
ââŚwhat an interesting manâ Lindsey croaked out, Rockwell nodded, but didnât comment, or more like doesnât know what to comment.
A few minutes passed by them like winds, before Lindsey pressed some commands on the control buttons, allowing the previous pink tiger to approach the two silently, it once again lightly clawed Rockwell legs, by then, the older woman knows that itâs her time to leave.
âLuckily, i can still run into logs of the fight drones in the storage, itâs valuable information what you gave me, Commanderâ Lindsey said, her voice seem distant, lost in her own realm of thoughts, âIâll call you when i need you once again, goodbye motherâ
Its a bold choice to call Rockwell mother on working time, but the commander dismissed it all the same, she turned on her heel to follow the animal, exit the laboratory as the door wosh shut behind her once more
