"Perfect. In the stables, part of the roof caved from all the snow. Mind fixin’ it for me?" 

"Yeah, of course. Won't be an issue. There anything else ya might need fixed?"

"What do you do around here, Lincoln? What’s your job? You look like you could be a patrol man, but you don’t have a gun."

"Guess I fall under the 'handy man' title around here. Used'ta be a carpenter, so fixin' things comes pretty easy."

"Eighteen."

"Yeah, don' need'a be smokin' anyway."

"Then I guess I’ll just have to endure it. I’m Anthea." 

"Guess so. Lincoln."

"Or that."

"How old are ya?"

"Ran out of painkillers and it’s the only thing around that can soothe me. Unless you know of anything better?" 

"Nothin' comes to mind."

"It does. Dun hafta worry about getting more of them."

"Or gettin' cancer. Congrats."

"Wow — so you’ve been smoking a long time then. I’ve been doing it for about a month and I hate it." 

"Quite a while, yeah.  Why bother if ya hate it?"

"Guess you could look at it that way. I don’t know, I’m just not looking for another thing to have to trade my food for. At least it’s better than the druggies."

"I don't blame you. Even I can agree that it's foolish to trade yer food for a cancer stick. Then again, I use 'em kinda like a last resort, so I guess it's different for others."

"And how old are you?"

 "Goin' on twenty-eight."

"How long have you been smoking?" 

   "Since I was 'bout seventeen? ..Somethin' like that."

"I get why people would need them but then again, I’m not looking to die any quicker. I’m already on budgeted time."

"That very well can be a reason why some folks keep up the habit the best they can. Jus' a matter of time 'til we're shuffled off our mortal coil, why not get a bit of pleasure outta smokin'?"

"Cigarettes top the list. So many people here demand them. Some would rather have cigarettes over medicine." 

"Well, ain't that good'ta know."

"—I’m sure they’ll find more during the Harvest." 

"I doubt cigarettes are anywhere near the top of the list."

"Gross."

"Yeah, terrible habit."

"Half the town sells their lives for them. Luckily, I’ve never picked up the habit."

"There are plenty of nerves that need calmin' 'round here, so I can't blame 'em. I have'ta force myself to keep what few packs I've got left hidden 'til I feel like I absolutely need one." 

"I’m glad I don’t smoke. Dun hafta worry about that."

"Yeah.. makes things a bit easier, I guess."
