Happy Autism Acceptance Month :)
Hey everyone,
First, there’s no actual omo in this post. 😅 Putting that out there up front, so you can skip over it if you want.
~
Second, I found out that I’m autistic~
There’s been a ton of self-discovery and “oh, that’s why!” involved in that for me, and while most of it’s been good / validating / comforting / etc, the reason I started looking into it more deeply in the first place is... not so much:
I’ve been working through autistic burnout for a little over a year now, set in motion by a whole lot of simultaneous life changes and routine upheaval (the end of this post mentions the very beginning of that), and contributed to by a handful of other things before and after that.
I think I’m beginning to emerge from it, finally, but it’s a work in progress, and some days I try to do too much and backslide.
I do intend to return to writing omo sometime... um... I won’t say “sometime soon”, because that’s probably a bit too optimistic, but... at the same time, I don’t want it to be forever from now.
Whenever it is, though, it’ll be at a slower pace than before, so I don’t send myself back into burnout. And I won’t be following any sort of schedule as to when I write and post, because I had too many nights where I prioritized that over sleep, and I’m much more aware now that if I try to write to a schedule, my brain will treat that as MUST FOLLOW THE SCHEDULE NO MATTER WHAT (because who needs that sleep thing anyway?), which *sarcasm* is clearly a very healthy thing to do.
But~ I will be back. :)

Third, happy autism acceptance and appreciation month! <3
