“Whew, hello! Good think we don’t have claustrophobia or this would be no fun.” 

[ Alycia Debnam Earey ] Have you met LILAH COLLINS? She’s a TWENTY-SIX year old ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER who can be LOVABLE yet NERVOUS.

“Sawyer,” The blonde held out her hand. “It’s nice to meet you, though not the best circumstances, I suppose.”

“Yeah, more like the worst circumstances imaginable, but it’s nice to meet you, nonetheless.” 

“Right… So stay with a bunch of people I don’t know. One of them could be a serial killer or something.”

“True. If you want to leave, there’s the door. I just think it’s the wrong choice.” 

“Kaiser loved that shit.” The blonde smiled sadly; her first smile since everything happened. “He probably would prefer to come back as a zombie or something.”

“TJ loved ‘em too,” Tobin let a small smile grace his lips, “I’m T.” 

“Okay, well sorry for your loss; we all lost people today. But crying isn’t going to bring any of them back. And if there was a way to bring them back, I’m sure we’d all be trying it. We may as well try to move forward with how to survive.”

“I’m not crying. Don’t mistake my compassion and grief for tears. I’m trying to survive just as much as you are, and moving forward sounds like our only option. Just lay off the jokes.” 

“I don’t have my phone to try and call somebody back home. Both my parents and my grandparents all died. I don’t wanna stay here but I don’t wanna go back out there either..”

“Well, staying here or going back out there are the only two options you have now.” 

“Should I be crying in the corner? I watched my sister drop dead today. We all watched somebody die today. I think a joke won’t hurt any more than that.”

“I held my daughter as she died. My sons were already gone by then. A joke does make things worse. A joke lessens and makes light of today. Be smart. Don’t be disrespectful. We’re all trying to cope and live.” 

“I can’t be here by myself… I need to go home. I need my aunt, or.. or somebody.”

“Okay, yeah, we’ll try and find someone for you. I’m sure they’re out there.” 

“D’ya really think they’d come back as zombies? You think that kinda thing exists?”

“A bunch of our loved ones just died right in front of our eyes. I think anything exists now.”
