Kat had a normal-ish upbringing until the age of eighteen, when her parents passed away unexpectedly. She had been dating her boyfriend for nearly three years, and when Kat mentioned she wanted to raise her then seventeen-month-old brother instead of him going off with a family member, he broke it off. Her little brother, now fourteen, still lives with her. She’d put love on the back burner, both because of how her long-term boyfriend who’d spoken about marriage had left her, and because she wanted to focus on raising her brother. She hopes to find somebody who’s supportive of the fact that she’s practically a mother, having raised him since he was a baby.
