the word nervous hadn’t been in pietro’s vocabulary for years. maybe it would’ve been, in the future, but if he had the chance to start over, the perfect time seemed to be brewing (of course, a woman was involved.) if he hadn’t been an obvious flirt with darcy before, he was pretty assured that saving her from a couple of supervillains - and then kissing her as a result - was enough to cement ‘i really like you’, in her brain. maybe it was a little dramatic to walk up to stark tower, but he did anyway, and of course without a plan. ‘darcy?’

          (  @rewrittenstart​  !  )    ‘  right  this  way  ,   ma’am  -  ’    she’s  steering  people  away  from  the  last  spot  the  villains  were  seen  ,   gentle  smile  upon  her  face  as  she  looks  over  her  shoulder  to  spot   pietro  .    ‘  i  think  that’s  the  last  of  ‘em  -  unless  you’re  seeing  something  i’m  missing  .   are  you  as  hot  and  tired  as  i  am ?   because  a  smoothie  sounds  really  good  right  now  .  ’  

he wishes he could pretend to be as exhausted as the rest of them, but there’s a lot of benefits to super speed, he guesses helping is one of them. ‘smoothies do sound good, however, i think i may need to tie up some loose ends...’ a grin forms on his face, ‘unless... i get them.’

‘it’s weird, isn’t it?’ she muses, putting the pink plait behind her back, ‘that what... let’s say, tony, thinks is retro, is probably like, eons behind us? then we come in, and think when he was forty, that was behind the times...’

“no.” jessica replies simply, “not that your hair isn’t great. it’s not for me.”

❛  a  girl  can  dream,  ❜    marie  muses,  eyes  fluttering  to  the  sky  with  a  shake  of  her  head.  she  thinks  having  the  black  rider  around  would  do  matthew  well  —  an  inspiring  presence,  to  make  him  more  dashing  and  romantic  !   jealousy  never  hurts,  either.    ❛  but  i  guess  you’ll  do  for  now.  just  don’t  disappoint  me,  ❜    she  teases,  a  playful  smile  flickering  onto  her  features.

was it possible for matthew to be jealous of himself? it must be, because he felt as if his whole face was turning green. any compliment from marie, however, could turn him right around. “i couldn’t disappoint.” he says with a smile, “i just saved some lives, and now we’re goin’ to some kinda comic fair... in the city of all places... i’d think i’m dazzlin’ you.”

“i’m the talent.” alison says easily, “so technically, you’re the one that shouldn’t be booking toward the stage, especially toward a mutant.”

 jess  stops  to  readjust  her  sunglasses  for  a  brief  moment  before  continuing  down  the  street  .  she’s  about  to  make  her  way  into  one  of  the  cafes  before  another  figure  is  slamming  right  into  her  .  “  jeeze  ––  ”  the  impact  didn’t  hurt  but  it  sure  as  hell  did  take  her  by  surprise  .  “  well  you’re  certainly  not  in  the  rush  to  leave  ,  are  you  ?  ”  she  sarcastically  comments  .  “  not  a  fan  of  coffee  ?  ”

“no,” he says simply, even though he’s blatantly lying. something about the truth and strangers never seem to mix, especially with venom always trying to gain control, “actually, barely a fan of people, or crowds for that matter.”

Observing her surroundings is like second nature now to Karen. There was a time when she’d been unassuming, but she wasn’t that girl anymore. She wasn’t the victim. Meeting the eyes of the man she’d ran into, she smiled politely. “I’m a journalist. Always looking for a story. A new lead. This kind of stuff never gets boring.” 

this was getting more interesting by the minute. eddie knows he doesn’t stay on the scene much anymore, but he’s still interested in finding the story... the one that would’ve taken his career into the clouds. “i used to be... so i know what you mean, just some of these people aren’t gonna appreciate ya.”

“oh, don’t worry, i still get nervous.” she says, shaking the nerves easily from her skin, “but you’re helping.” she means that quite seriously, and she hopes he sees it. “knowing someone is fully supporting me always sets me at ease.”

          ‘  just  ruin  him  in  a  different  way  -  there’s  always  a  ceo  that’s  being  a  little  bitch  during  each  time  period  .   wasn’t  this  the  rise  of  facebook ?  ’    she  asks  ,   cocking  an  eyebrow  .    ‘  lets  get  him  and  his  privacy  issues  .  ’  

“he’s also ugly.” rose replies, “looks aren’t everything, but with a name like facebook, he’d be the guy with an anime avatar.”

“do,” megan says casually, because with doreen, she just can. since they’ve become roommates, they’ve become extremely close (oddities included.) “have you seen bert? he’s been missing for almost an hour, and he wasn’t with the other squirrels...”

“you know, i’m actually surprised this still works,” karolina said, her credit card (full of her parent’s money, but still hers) still in hand. “it would’ve been really embarrassing if it didn’t,” she chuckled slighlty, moving to pick up all the bags. “well, we have a huge amount of snacks now, what do we do next?”

“eh i’ve got one too,” alison says, sure that her card would probably decline after all of the items she deemed necessary to perform at the festival, but a bedazzled microphone was an absolute must. “we’ve got to get some new towels, and definitely a bigger tv... maybe even some new pillows...”

“does anyone even like ceos?” rose questions, though she hopes this is going somwhere interesting, at least, “if we’re going to get someone, let it be jeff bezos... he’s not that rich right now... right?”

Karen’s eyes were glued to her surroundings. There were so many heroes and kids dressed as the heroes they loved the most. This was the perfect place to observe others and possibly get an exclusive interview or two. There were plenty of interesting people to pick from. She wasn’t watching where she was going when she ran head on into someone else. “I’m sorry! I wasn’t looking where I was going. Probably should have been focusing on walking, not observing.” 

meeting her eyes easily, he nods simply, knowing he should leave it at that. but of course his curiously piqued. “what are you observing for? i mean, same supe shit every day, right?”

matt frequently had one hell of a time keeping work and play separate, especially with the object of his affection had always seemed to like play matthew more than work matthew. “i dunno marie, but it’s not entirely impossible,” he fibs, knowing it’s actually extremely possible, “i’m sure leadville happens to fall in new york pretty frequently.”
